What's sad is the fact that these places are STILL in business which means there are a lot of victims that fall for this BS.

Yup, this is what my Government and Economic classes taught me to do. Read the fine print and question the documentation. It’s nuts that this is the way it is.

Have those scam companies up here in Missouri too. I got the same scam letters in the mail after starting my business. I ignored them after doing my research.

It's crazy, same with new car titles or registration. This is why education is critical.

They must have a branch in each state. Surprised they haven't gotten shut down for making their forms intentionally misleading to look like an official state document.

You can also get the labor “posters” for free from the government websites, you just have to print it on your own printer.

That has happened to me. Yes, read the WHOLE letter. They will state that this is a service and not something that is required.

Dude it’s so bad. I got a ton of spam when I started my LLC here in FL. I get no less than 5 spam calls a day too.

I finally agree with you. I was an owner in a business as well, much larger and we went through this yearly. updated labor law / Osha posters. Yes you can get them from the state directly. And a lot are free. Good info for people.

Wait til you get your USDOT number! It's 10x worse, if you can believe that.

Thing you need to be aware of is what the laws actually are. Just because you filed articles of incorporation doesn't mean you need to have labor law posters or anything like that. In fact in my state you don't have to any of that until you hit 15 or more employees. Here in WA it is illegal for any private company to send you advertising that appears to be, either in looks or in verbage, an official document from a government agency. Don't fall for these companies, most of them are scams. Always contact or sec of state or labor dept if you have questions.

What are the next steps after getting the Ein and certicates? I just started my first business and laughed at all these junk mail letters i got.

Happened to me in Alabama several years ago, shockingly the BS mandatory credit check you have to get from time to time is a state sponsored scam, but I originally thought it was one of the predatory companies you outlined here. Good luck on the new venture!
