My Off Grid 24 Volt System using The all In One MPP Solar Inverter model # PIP LV2424 MSD 24V 2.4kW, 120V Output, 2000W Solar Input 80A Mppt $652.00
Live completely off the grid with this setup. My whole setup was about $2300 not including the batteries. I’m able to run my 1,000 watt AC, refrigerator and my led lights during the day. Going in to the night with a full battery you can run the AC all of the night. Please keep in mind I'm only cooling a 160sqft tiny home. Completely off the grid.

NICE DIY SOLAR SYSTEM FOR THE OFF GRID HOMESTEAD . WITH THE PV MODULES PRODUCING POWER ON THE SPOT , YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY MUCH USING THE GENERATOR . YOU HAVE A GREAT THING GOING AND WE PREPPERS MUST DEPEND ON IT TO SURVIVE ANY SHTF SITUATION ON OR OFF THE GRID . MAY THE SOLAR BE WITH YOU .

thank you so much. we just bought a place off grid and the inverter didn't come with a manual and i couldn't find the manual on line. and yes they had the batteries on agm, so i just changed them to flood, now we wait and see if they charge the batteries better

I suggest you to put more solar pannels,you have a lot of battery and will be half charged. Olso i suggeat you to put active ballancer for those battery. I have olso 24v configuration,i use 4s 3p battery bank with active ballance for each string and all my battery bank have same voltage.Your off grid house and surrounds are amazing. Wish you a lot of sun

You should consider going to a ductless mini split AC. They use very little power compared to the portable units.

Thank you for posting. Your place looks awesome! I have a solar shop in Lexington, Kentucky and we are looking into stocking MPP Solar Inverters so I appreciate this quite a bit! Please keep us posted on how well it holds up over time... I am struggling to find the failure rate on these and about how long they last, so any info would be fantastic.

Fist thing I would have set was turning off that beep ! That ac in you are not using can be plugged into the generator and the unit will charge your battery . Unit has a built in charger and should be set up that way. That way you can bring the batteries up at night !

I really like that solar mount design & your container home. I noticed that your panels are positioned nearly flat, with no angle. Is this by design? If so, you are very lucky to be getting around 1000-watts. Your generator likely scared some of the varmints away at night and you'll likely have more curious visitors, now that the generator won't be running (also, nice job with the solar setup).

Awesome video and thank you for sharing. Total noob here and my question is if you combine the six panel voltages together it equals 253 volts going to the mpp solar inverter but its only rated to take in 145v? How is this possible? Appreciate any input thank you!
@journeyintonaturetheoutdoors
I have six panels, each runs at 30v at optimum operating voltage. I hooked each two panels in series (neg to pos for a total of 3 strings (3 pairs) each pair now has 60v now because when you hook up in series voltage doubles and amps stay the same. Then you hook up the three strings together in parallel (pos to pos and neg to neg). In parallel the voltage stays the same and amps double. So I only have 60 volts going to my Mppt all in one solar inverter. Check this Renogy portable Power station 1000……ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-13DuseBLyHc.html You can look at one of my other videos to see how I hooked it up. Sorry for the late response

The price you paid in wood sounds insane, 200$ is mental. I’m in the uk and that wood be 50-70£ all day. Solar panels wise it costs 50-70£ per 35v panel (250w).
@journeyintonaturetheoutdoors
Yes, that is due to supply and demand, lumber is so pricey. The cost has came down some but not much. I wish I would have builded with metal instead. Thank you for watching

What size wire did you use for you run to the solar panels. I calculate close to 20 amps if the panels are producing at 1500Watts.@75 volts( 2 panels in series). Have you measured the voltage at the panels and at the charge controller when it is charging 1000watts?
@journeyintonaturetheoutdoors
@journeyintonaturetheoutdoors 2 года назад
Chris, I'm running 10 gage wire... This works great with the system I have. When charging at 1000 watts the voltage is about 56 volts www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D7VBU8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

10-gauge wire is usually used for short 30 amp runs. If you plan on going over 150 feet, 8-gauge wire or thicker will be needed.
@Chris_at_Home
@Chris_at_Home 2 года назад
@@journeyintonaturetheoutdoors If your panels are putting out 1000Watts at 56volts on 100’ of 10 AWG you are probably dropping at least 7 volts. At 1000 watts and 56 volts you have 17 amps. 7 volts x 17 amps=119 watts loss in the wire.I have a smaller system with 500 watts running similar voltage and use 6AWG on a 70 ft run and loose a little over a volt. That must be some pretty good wire. I worked in electronics most of my career and I’ve never seen wire that good.

A suicide cable is not a good idea. Since this is a year old, hopefully you've gotten rid of it. If you haven't, put a female connector on the end of your generator cord and a male receptacle to connect it to your home.
