It’s weird to think that I was here from the beginning of this. I completely lost track of time and it feels weird to see that it’s been years. This is incredible. I am so happy for y’all. It’s so beautiful.
I remember watching Matt when demo ranch had less than 500 subs. Hard work, determination, smart business moves, awarded him this life now. Man, time flies. Well deserved, brother, well deserved.
Right I get teary eyed everytime I think about it man. I forgot who said the quote but it was something like "if only we knew we were in the good times while we were in the good times" something like that but it's crazy to think about
Curious to know why Matt & his family didn’t move into the mansion? This mansion has a great views & you are now moving to a bigger house that has a beautiful view.
I met and married my husband got two dogs and had my first child in the span of renovating this. I remember watching that first video. So crazy how time flies.
The project completing honestly felt like a TV show that I religiously watched, ended. I had watched every episode since you uploaded the video announcing you bought an abandoned mansion. Now I'm constantly wanting more renovation videos of this caliber, of which there are few
I can't help but remember your brother's passing during the project. This was an insanely massive undertaking and if anything would have broken even the strongest man, that would have done it. Mark would be proud of his brother not giving up on this project.
Even after watching this video it's still tough for me to really comprehend the effort and work that had to be put into making this house what it is today. Unbelievable! Congratulations, guys! Perfect job, well deserved! All the best!
😂😂😂 literally made me lol. She's so reserved and quiet normally but that spoke volumes without needing a word lol. In all fairness she is the realist in the relationship to keep Matt from going too crazy
What a beautiful home to raise a family, a forever home that took a vision and lots of hard work to finish. Kudos and congratulations. Can't say that I have seen better.
Yessssss….this is the best renovation video on a home….. the energy was high through the ups and downs you might of felt building your home of Love…. because that’s what it is! Blessings on top of Blessings…❤
Matt is one of my favorite success stories. A humble veterinarian with a passion for guns who stuck to what he loved and turned it into most peoples dream.
I completely agree, watching all of his content gives me something to work towards. I see his success and think to myself "I can do that, with hard work I can do that."
Absolutely wonderful journey. Thank you guys for letting us be a part of it and especially for letting us see the finished product. It looks breathtaking and I hope you can enjoy every minute in it!
With all the setbacks and finding that you had to completely gut the house was heartbreaking, but you both turned it into a forever home. Congratulations! It’s beautiful ❤️
Well said. There are a lot of people that act nice and good on camera but they are JO's in realize. This guy is the real deal and so is his Dad. Great family that (as you said) "deserves all the success in the world."
I always find this kind of comment interesting. You've never known the man or his family and have never had a relationship with him behind the camera. Yet you've made a judgement on his character, and I have no doubt you believe what you say 100%. Did you know that this is how you make sheeple? You see things on a screen. You've never met them. You've only seen controlled public media released only by the party you're watching. Yet, you've come to that very conclusion. Nothing against you friend. I just wanted to have an exercise in enlightenment :)
@@thedevilsadvocate3710 I have been thinking about what you have typed. I agree that judging someone from only media that they release is a bit silly. However, you can't fake the look in Meredith's eyes when she looks at Matt. You can't fake the way the kids run to him and tell him about all the things that go on in their day. Between this series, Demolition Ranch and Off the Ranch there is so much footage of the family interacting. I just don't think you can fake it that long. If he did that's incredible. Additionally, there are things that Matt could leave in his videos that he doesn't. He protects his family in that way. As much as I agree with you, as a rule of thumb, I think that the OP is correct in his assesment.
@@markleibold1261 Not to mention his dad’s videos, Out on the Ranch”, which gives us a glimpse of how he raised his boys, Matt, Mark, the other brother and sister. They really do seem like a wonderful family that was raised with values and a love of the outdoors. Not only are they veterinarians but they can build, weld and fix almost anything that is broken. It takes a lot of patience and determination to accomplish what Matt and Meredith did, heck she was very involved in some of the physical work with the nail gun.
@@thedevilsadvocate3710 normally I’d agree with you, but I think the way his family reacts-those are emotions that are VERY hard to fake. Especially the kids’ reactions. With countless celebrities and famous people on the internet, it’s pretty easy to see who’s posing for the internet and who’s actually being real. And out of those celebrities I’d easily say Matt is someone to look up to, based off what we see. I don’t think he would be as successful as he his if it was all fake. I know you’re playing the devils advocate hence your name, but I’d like to think Matt is one of the exceptions. Obviously that line of thinking can be dangerous, especially if you put someone on a pedestal and then some dark revelation is revealed about them. I think those “family” channels are all acted-you can tell those kids are forced to be in them. With these videos it never really seems that way and his kids look like they’re genuinely having fun.
It's hard to believe that it's been more than 3 years since this all started. Feels like it wasn't long ago that I was watching the first episode and now here we are at the end. It's an odd feeling, but it's been an absolute blast watching from start to finish. I've always loved this kind of stuff and seeing it all come together is just fantastic. Incredible work, brother.
I still remember the first episode, thinking there's no way you're gonna get this done, but after seeing it stripped to the framing, it was going to be completed. The surprise was when you decided to keep it, congrats! This series has inspired me to start work on my house that was severely damaged in the Northridge 94 quake, I had about 75% of the work completed before having my first heart attack. It has been a struggle through the years, but I'm now determined on completing some of the unfinished plans, in which I built the entry gate and patio cover over the front walkway to my house.
@@ETC_Rohaly_USCG Had a contractor do most of the exterior work after the quake, but the interior I did everything. I really enjoyed making upgrades to my taste, but after the first heart attack it put me in a financial bind and work had to stop. I've had a total of 7 heart attacks and currently being evaluated for a transplant (15% EF). I strive to stay active and won't let my condition hold me back, if you met me, you'd probably think I look totally fine, which I am to a point, my stamina usually last for 5 to 10 minutes before I have to rest, so it's been a slow steady process.
Great video! My family has done construction for generations and there is nothing more satisfying than watching renovation like that. Bringing beauty back to an abandoned property.
@DemolitionRanch Matt, you & Meredith put so much sweat equity into this house!! I hope y'all and the kids make it into a home that your future grandchildren will enjoy just as much!! All the best from NC!! ❤❤❤
I cannot believe it has been three years since you stumbled across this diamond in the rough. I don't believe anyone could imagine the final product being this amazing. To say you have an amazing family that stood behind one of the most ambitious projects I have ever seen.
Honestly, my favorite thing about the entire house is that mosaic. The fact that you painstakingly saved that little piece of the house's history and restored it AND hung up it prominently is just poetic to me. Well done, sir!
@@luisvelazquez942 hope English isn’t your first language. They bought the house to renovate it and possibly sell it, but when you put as much heart and sweat into as they did; they decided to move it
Man having watched this series since the very first episode came out. I forgot how long it took and just how much work had been done to the house. One of my all time favorite series on RU-vid, had a smile the whole time watching it. Also being able to see Matt and his family grow throughout the whole thing is absolutely awesome.
I started watching this while deployed and remember that this project was one of the only things I found enjoyment in during that time period. Preciate the good times Matt and Mere:) Also the last 10 seconds of Mere is priceless
Great 👍 video! I have loved the journey of restoration you have shown us on RU-vid over the past few years. You should be proud of what you have accomplished for your family 👪 Matt 👏 👏 👏 ❤ 👏 👏 👏
I forgot how much work you did Matt and Mere, turned out to be a fantastic family home. Congratulation, worth all the heartache and joy. EDIT: Mere wins the best part of video at the end when she is sculling her drink....seems to me she has done that before!!!
shes a mother of 3, married to matt, you really surprised? EDIT: just seen it, i see what you mean, and as an engineer (like mere) thats the drink of "oh ****** here we go"
I can’t believe it’s been 3 years! I first started watching you when the series started. It’s was amazing watching the entire process and how your children have grown through the process.
yeah americans are crazy when it comes to building. first lady in the house looks at it and thinks less than 3 years, me a european look at it and think at least 5 years. without crane btw ,-)
Was following the renovation for a while in the beginning, but haven't visited the channel for a long time. Amazing what you accomplished! Absolutely beautiful...
I come back to watch this video every know and then to this day because this is the kind of thing I would like to do for me and my family in the future. It has helped me and my wife get the inspiration for our house when I get out of the military.
Through surprises, delays, a pandemic, shortages, runaway costs, and etc they did it! Congratulations to the family for making it work. Mere is a saint and the kids have grown so much too.
I used to keep up to date on this project for the first year or so, but I got caught up in personal issues and just never got around to going back and watching the process of this MASSIVE project. I am honestly proud of this guy for commiting to his dreams of basically rebuilding an entire mansion from almost scratch.
What a huge project to take on! You have built yourself a beautiful home. Congratulations 🎊 ❤ It. Loved watching your progress on this renovation project. Take care
What a journey guys... I have watched many channels and projects but this is by far the most exciting one of all. Thank you for sharing and I am looking forward to the bigger one. Much love and God bless your new home. Bill.
Three and a half years ago, I thought for sure this wouldn't work. I can't tell you how happy I am that I was wrong. Watching you carve out your own slice of paradise bit by bit has brought me so much joy, and seeing it all put together in one video gave me the biggest of smiles. I am so happy for your family and I can't wait to see what's in store for you and your family next. From one Texan to another, I am so very proud of you for sticking to it and building a house that you and your family can officially call home.
I've watched the series since the very beginning and I can't believe it's been 3 and a half years! I've forgotten how bad it was in the beginning, it's absolutely incredible how much work you've done and now it looks just breathtaking! Thank you for taking us along on this journey, I loved it! I wish you would do a more detailed house tour on the inside to see Mere's incredible taste and talent in decorating it 😍
@@FusseyBussey381 Quit your bitching , there's enough to see for everyone and if you did ACTUALLY watch from the beginning you'll know from watching the process what it looks like. You sound like an ungrateful child , always demanding more.
The fact that I've watched every single episode of this build, and seeing it all come to fruition is absolutely insanely a build to be proud of. after being just as scared as you was when all the rock and what not came down😫😫😫
Bringing this abandoned mansion and landscape back is a wonderful example of taking something so massive and seeing it through to the end. Congratulations to you all.
You did a wonderful job editing this and putting it all together Matt. You guys showed up in my feed not long after you bought the abandoned mansion and I’ve been watching ever since. What you two have accomplished together is truly beautiful. I know the exhaustion of a home build, it goes right down to the bone; let alone a demolition and a rebuild. You both managed all this while growing your business, raising your family and enduring heartache and loss. And.. you did it all with an audience of millions. Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us.
this might be my favorite video from you guys. Lovely home, and super happy to see you guys doing so much of the work yourselve! Amazing! so happy to see such an awesome family doing such cool things.
What a heck of a transformation, absolutely stunning work you did. I'm sure generations of the Carriker family will appreciate the hard work you guys did for years to come.
I found this video series back in 2020 and was loving watching you guys create your dream home. I stopped watching for some reason. It might have been because of the long gaps between updates, but anyway. I remembered you all today and watched it all. Your house is amazing, and you've made it a home. I'm so happy for you guys!
It's hard to believe it's been 3.5 years. Time flies anymore. Thank you for taking us along for the journey. Hope you and the kids have many, many years of making memories there.
I’d love to see a video dedicated to the inside of the house!! The outside is of course stunning, but I feel like a full house tour is needed!! Amazing transformation ❤
Fell behind on my video watching for a while and finally went back and found this to see the finished product…WOW! Congrats to you and your family. The place looks incredible!
This was definitely one of the coolest projects I’ve ever seen on RU-vid! Absolutely incredible work. Hope y’all enjoy your not so abandoned anymore home!
The house is beautiful, and that's an understatement. Wow, thank you so much for taking us along the 3 year journey. Seeing the whole family spending time together at the end brought a tear to my eye 🥺
It's been 3 years already! I remember when you first started this series. Holy crap time really flew by. Looks great and I'm happy for your family. You deserve it, brother. Good luck on your future endevours.
Almost brought a tear to my eyes, amazing work from the demo family ! Im a very centimental person and to see Matt the same about the table and the Mexican mozaik mural is truly awesome, you guys turned a wreck into a home and a bloody beautiful one at that, big thankyou to Matt for bringing us alone and letting us watch him and his family grow over the past 3 years. Love you guys ❤️
Finally, a success story!!!! We all needed to see your project to the end.....we were all so happy to see it completed!! Now.......on to watching the resort restoration.
I seen some of the beginning videos and hasn't had the chances to follow up. And wow finally saw this video of the finish product. What a amazing home you guys have created. Congratulations!!
That cut to mere as she finished off that glass of wine while you were saying you got something bigger and more abandoned was hilarious . It,s been a fascinating 3 years to watch the progress of turning what was an ugly duckling into a incredible family home . Can,t wait to see whats next . Good luck guys .
This makes ME emotional man. Watching you 7 or 8 years ago and how far you've come is truly an incredible feat. It's so awesome to see you and your family in a home like this. That is a dream come true. Watching this abandoned mansion transform into a home over the last 3 years has been one hell of a journey. You're such an inspirational person Matt and I wish nothing but the best for you and the family in the coming years. I can only hope that some day I will be in the position to do something like this. Once again congratulations and good luck with everything. Love from Portland, OR.
@@juliend5047 They need an appraisal for insurance. And then, yes, their property taxes will spike. Not sure Matt and Mer are excited for it, but not sure they're going to feel it too much, either.
Congratulations!!!!!!! Awesome, so beautiful!!!!! Much Happiness , love, and many many years of happiness, memories to make with your beautiful family. I remember when you first saw the mansion, and now its totally awesome! Much love and hugs to all!
A big kudos to you all with this job. Amazing!!! Lots of hard work and stress, but all came out in the end. You should be proud of yourself! Congrats on the new home.
I don't think any of us can truly convey how awesome this series was. Seeing you guys grind through this was genuinely incredible and inspiring. Congratulations guys, ya'll earned it!
I’ve been watching since day one, and life took hold and I completely forgot about the project. Seeing this made my day, I’m happy yins we’re able to make this all possible!
When your kids grow up and become adults, and fully realize the stuff yall(Mere and Matt) have done together, they're going to be so proud of you. You're incredible people who have done right by your kids, I hope one day you'll be there when they really realize it
I really enjoyed watching this build. Not only did we get to see the progress of the build and most times showing the process but we got to watch your kids grow over time. As a father of 5, I done a simular build but, my old house isn't as big as yours, but plenty big for my family. Our kids helped us every inch of the job. Now all of them are grown and are home owners and parents too. I believe that when you have the means and the ability, you tend to appreciate the house more when you go this far to make it your home!
I can’t even put into words how amazing it feels to be able to remember every video and waiting for each one to come out, I’m speaking for everyone when I say that you all genuinely make me smile every video. Thank you so much y’all for all the content you have made together over the years!
I'm really happy for you; the last video I watched was of you tearing this place down. Now, to see that you made it into a dream home is very pleasing. I'm sure you'll be very happy there.
As an architect, I highly enjoyed your journey. The landscaping design around the house is outstanding. It definitely gave the house a feeling of luxury and also gave it great spaces for sharing and enjoying. Congrats on this massive project!
This Series was a big part of keeping my mood up during the whole pandemic, I remember being so thrilled during the episode ya'll decided you were gonna move in, cause I knew that meant ya'll would have so many cool ideas you would throw into it. Happy ya'll get to enjoy it now.
Yea I hadn't watched the first few on release as I knew they'd be a series but as soon as I was furlough in the pandemic I binge watched and then watched on release, amazing series. I know it's personal but I'd love to see a walk through of your house now it's "lived in" as well as any other snags like the swimming pool issues. I'm not sure if you had any footage but it'd be interesting to see some more time-lapse style footage of the finishing bits, I understand why you didn't do them yourself and didn't film them but it'd still be interesting, also watching you and mere doing things like changing a light in your old house was so entertaining it'd have been great to see you assembling furniture etc 🙈
It was good to see the entire renovation in one video rather than all of the videos over the time it took to finish the work. It puts all of the hard work in perspective. I hadn't realized how much went into this project until I saw this video. What an accomplishment! A beautiful home for the family! And what a view!
It's crazy how invested I got from the very first video. Both you and Mere and the most genuine people and that's what makes me and I'm sure everyone else come back. Thank yall for just being yall. Congrats on yall's new home and look forward to whatever is next!
I couldn't wait to get home from work to watch this! I actually teared up a bit at the end (at poor Mere downing her Wine) lol. No but seriously though. Thank you all for taking us along on this wild and crazy ride.
Thanks for all the years of amazing content! I can honestly say that you are the 1 person I've continued to religiously follow on RU-vid. Don't think I have missed a single video since day 1. I pray continued blessings for you and your family and keep up the amazing work!
This place is such a big blessing from god and, to see you work so hard to build this from the ground up and now, you can grow old in it is just amazing. I was almost in tears for you and your family because its so joyful. Something about building your own house just hits so much harder then buying it already build. I am so amazingly grateful that god has given you this and i am extremely happy for you and your family. May god keep blessing you and i am really excited to see what god does for your with your resort renovation, with much love, this guy lol.
This was incredible. I fell off the series in 2020 when everything went insane and my life totally changed and I didn’t have RU-vid time anymore. Seeing it all from start to finish is incredible. You really have built the ultimate dream home.
Best part of the series was this video strictly based off of how much Mere's attitude changed towards the project. This was an amzing series to watch. Loved every bit of it!
