Etienne de Winne studied Economic Sciences in Aalst and at the same time went to the music conservatory in Gent and to the Lemmens Institute in Mechelen, where he achieved first prices for dolmization, music history, harmony, clarinet, transpositions and chamber music.
Later he achieved a first price HAFABRA-direction with Guy Duyck, bandmaster at the Navy. Professionally he was a theacher at the school of music in Lede and in local schools.
He played clarinet in the Flemish Opera in Gent.
As accordion player (harmonica) he worked with Flemish and international artist, such as Edith Piaf in the concert hall AB in Brussels.
In 1970 and 1973 he achieved with his students the European Cup Accordion and in 1973 he became laureate and European accordion teacher in Tilburg, in the Netherlands.
As choir master of the K.H. &Show Corps Sint Martinus he received the European Cup in 1992 and 1993.
With brass band ARIOSO he concertized with “The Wantage Silver Band “ in Wantage, United Kingdom.
As composer Etienne received in 1982 the Culture Price “PRO MUSICA” for his musical “LUXIA”.At the same time he also made compositions for the Accordion Contests of VLAMO.
Etienne is pleased and grateful to make his compositions and arrangements available for Mr Endre Varga and Musica Antiqua Ensemble - Hévíz, Hungary.
