In this quick tutorial, I'll be showing you my Blender to AfterEffects Compositing workflow, i.e. how I composite my RenderLayers in AfterEffects.
This was originally an exclusive Patreon-only video. But since I've taken down my Patreon page, I've decided to post these tutorials publicly here on RU-vid. This means that the style or quality may not be perfect, but I hope it's helpful to you regardless.
EDIT: 2.5 years later and I've decided to restart my Patreon page. You can find the link to it below if you're interested to watch more of these exclusive tutorials.

This is kind of a filler video, I'm working on something that is taking very long. So bear with me for some time while I try to finish it xD

Wow, that is how compositing should be made, I`m amazed with the lighting that you added in After Effects for the mood - that completely changes the game

Thanks for having good music for a tutorial! The amount of tutorials I skip because of some action music playing is insane.

Thanks a lot! I struggle with them myself, and this is nowhere near perfect. Once I master it, I'll make sure to cover a tutorial on that! :D

Hello I am a beginner to blender and have a doubt. When rendering an animation should I use mp4 format or png format. Also if I use png format that can I use blender again to convert it to mp4. What is the advantage of rendering in png format?
@RenderRides

It's a good practice to render in a format like .tiff or .exr as you don't get compression artefacts from them like you would on a .png image. There are a bunch of more reasons to pick those file formats over .png which you can find out with a simple google search, including the fact that you get can basically store more info in the other file formats which can be very useful in the post processing stage. Now to answer your question- You can definitely use Blender's video editing tools to convert your image sequences into a video file. There are also other free dedicated video editing software like DaVinci Resolve. I'd suggest using them over Blender for video editing, as Blender is still quite limited in this aspect. The main advantage, in my opinion, of using image sequences over rendering directly as a video file is that you can continue your render from any point if say your PC or Blender were to crash while rendering. You can also control the frame-rate of the video later too, as you have control over individual frames. These are just a few examples, but you can dive deeper by watching some videos or reading online :D

@@RenderRides thanks a lot for your detailed explanation. But if i turn all my image sequence to mp4, shouldnt I have to render it again to export the video? So at that time will my pc crash?
@RenderRides
@RenderRides 2 года назад
@@techking496 See, when you're 'rendering' the images sequences into a video file, it's not as hardware demanding and it's also pretty quick in most cases. It's kind of like exporting a video after you're done editing. Also, even if Blender did crash, you can simply start over again and it won't be that big of a loss to you. If you need something more reliable, a dedicated video editing software might be a better option than doing it all inside Blender.
