Brilliant Jamie. I see you are incorporating your photographic skills into your artwork too. :) The video work is much more professional looking too, which is great!

Thank's Lynton.It certainly did take a long time to make the video and I did start to wonder if I would ever get it finished, but after all the positive comments it was definitely well worth the time it took. Thanks again and greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much Jamie! This provided great info that I need to learn. Very well done!! In regards to the cheetah compositions, they’re both really strong but my preference is the original version.

Thank you so much and I agree I prefer the original version as well. It is surprising how slight changes can make such a difference.

What a fantastic video. Thank you so much, Jamie. I learned so much from it, and I'll look at all my animal drawings in a different way from now on now that I can see how powerful composition can be. If you do start up a Patreon page I will definitely be joining.

Excellent video and very informative as I struggle with backgrounds. Your explanations in this video gave me more confidence in regards to my compositions and background issues. The examples that you used were fantastic and right on point. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

I like this really interesting 3:35 I've always wanted to draw a pack of growling wolves running like the animals but in a front view and negative space was gonna be an effect I wanted to use!

Every picture tells a story and that sounds like a great idea for a composition. I think it will take a lot of planning but you will end up with a very powerful picture.

This is an excellent topic. While I feel fairly comfortable with drawing the subjects, the bacgrounds are something that I tend to neglect. Your examples are excellent and thought-provoking. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this subject with us. I really want to explore this subject more and will be looking for more resoures.

Thank you Jamie! Very informative and helpful. Composition can be what gives an artwork the X Factor. I also find lighting to do that too - perhaps and idea for a future video? Also, how did you find your client base?
@JamieBoots
@JamieBoots Год назад
Yes, so true and that sounds a great idea for a video, thank you. That's an interesting question, when I started about 20 years ago I entered exhibitions but you very raerly meet the people who purchase your work and it's only recently with a lack of exhibitions that previous customers have started to contact me directly. Getting an agent/publisher made a huge difference as my work started to be shown in galleries but this is not easy as you have to trust the people you work with. I have seen things have change considerably over the years and the internet does play a large part in this and I definitely got left behind so am trying to play catch up. Hope this is helpful and thank you for watching.

Thank you Jamie for this very helpfull video , the. cheetah i like the original compesition its more intriging, the golden ratio is very complicated. From now in i take this in my drawings instead of in the middle of the paper
@JamieBoots

Thank you I also prefer the original Cheetah. I didn't expect there to be such a difference with only a minor change. So glad the video was of help and don't be afraid to experiment.

Very useful video, thank you! Composition is something I really need to work on, it really makes a huge difference to the finished piece! Do you tend to work out the composition digitally or by sketching it out on paper?
@JamieBoots
@JamieBoots Год назад
Thank you so much. I generally have an idea in my head to start with and can then refine it either on paper or the computer. When I start work on a piece I use a blunt H pencil lightly to rough the picture out and because of this any alterations can easily be made.
