#flashbackfriday vlog from 2017
When finishing a painting, I find that small, simple adjustments are all that’s needed. This was the case with a painting I’ve been working on lately - it was almost done, but something about the composition irked me. Then I made a simple change and suddenly everything came together.

Great presentation. It is like you say….look for what is loud and what is quiet. The blue shape was shouting, so the “bully” was “expelled”! Hah!

This makes so much sense. Seems like we'd notice this but all we do is keep making the object the biggest brightest most obvious which is really taking away from the rest of the painting. Thank you for the enlightenment!

Love this tip , I have had a painting that I just couldn’t resolve . The whole thing looked too busy , I adjusted it in this way and it made all the difference
