In any compost, it's better not to put cooked or rotten food. It attracts animals. So try to reduce the waste by cooking sufficient food and eating without leftovers. You can put uncooked kitchen waste, dry leaves, Puja flowers, egg cartons, egg shells, tea and coffee grounds, recyclable brown paper (avoid shiny ones)(make pieces of the paper and put it in compost), all leftover fruit seeds, and plant waste -can go into compost pile. Chopped vegetables will make the composting process quick. Peels of fruits like orange, lemon, pomegranate, and sweet lime; can be chopped to tiny pieces before adding. If any Non Veg bones are there feed them to the street dogs. This goes with the leftover food in the homes too. Feed the dogs before the food gets rotten.
