This happens for two reasons: i) It is difficult to comprehend how long the real time scales are ii) The subtle effect of years of the propagation of the theory of evolution.
Absolutely 💯 They want to cater to some post modern kids and genZ millennials who find it hard to stomach the fact that Ramayana happened a million years ago and yet ramasethu bridge is standing intact but have no problems believing the existence of a certain other things like pushpaka vimana etc even after trying to convince themselves that it's only 5000 years ago. And I am so tired of authors with absolutely no imagination or skill wanting to give their own spin to a slice of a story or incident from Ramayana or Mahabharata and miserably alter the entire narrative. Hello and Hare Krishna, I have 2 questions. If you search here on RU-vid for "Sadhguru Yugas" and you watch the 50 min long video, he says we are in the Dwapara Yuga right now and we will enter Treta Yuga in 2082. Isn't this this conflicting with the one you showed us here. I think there's also a different one from Lahiri Mahasaya. 2nd question is, what program do you use for the animations you present. 1. Yes there are different views on the yuga cycles. The yuga cycles as described in the Bhagavat Purana effect the whole universe and one such cycle of 4 yugas is huge, ie 4.32 million years. However there are 'cycles within cycles' and there are smaller ones which are only relevant for the earth. 2. I use Microsoft Expression and video and record audio of what my computer is showing. I prepare the images on MS Powerpoint.
It may hardly matter to us humans if it's 4.45 or 4.32 billion years old as by that time we would be in time travel beyond Andremeda. What matters most here is that ancient Indian spiritual scriptures had concepts of numbers that long i.e. running into billions or trillions. It's beyond comprehension. Some of the other civilizations till 1000bc were stuck at 120.

Some Hindu organizations including ISHA foundation discard the 43200000 Duration Of Kaliyuga and the 4:3:2:1 ratio of time and instead describe it in the scale of thousands and in form of ascending and descending cycles based on the precision of equinoxes. Some argue that this has something to do with the 3d to 5d ascension and Schumann harmonics while others say that the Kaliyuga is almost over and the Kalki avatar will come also pls tell ut opinion on Jain description of time if u can? I think you have the Yuga time lengths wrong. Each cycle is 26000 years (the precession of the equinox is the physical manifestation of that) Sri yukteswar in his book outlined that in the Kali Yuga sages misinterpreted the dating and it has stuck ever since.
The yuga lengths are from the Srimad Bhagavatam, which takes into consideration the cycle of many planets. But without these larger cycles, there are shorter 'sub-cycles' limited to the earth

It goes something like this: Teachings of Hinduism are very difficult to grasp but are defacto truth. The text underneath may help "some people" to get a handle of what it's all about.
