With varicose veins in 4th stage, you should plan to get them treated at your convenience. Till that time, stockings and checkup at 3 to 6 months should be ok

@drsumitkapadia I am suffering mild discomfort in legs due to varicose. My Dr. has put me on capsules of blend of extracts of Diosmin, horse chestnut, Butchers broom and Hespridin. This doctor is not a vascular surgeon. He is a cardiologist.

I have initial stage of varicose veins problem and I have spider veins in the thigh.I have tried so many stockings but its not comfortable for me.which type of stockings should I wear. With only spider veins, you may not wear stockings regularly. And if you wish to, wear below knee so its more comfortable

Socks will not be graduated compression and hence are useful to people who have to be standing but do not have major varicose veins. For those who have varicose veins, it is better to buy compression stockings which provide adequate compression

For larger varicose veins, or with developing skin problems, you either have to wear it lifelong or get the veins treated.

Sir I'm preparing for 5 Kms Running (BSF,CISF) from last 7 days I'm facing varicose veins swelling type symptoms and shin pain, around 8cm down to the knee swelling vein and some are near to toe. Amazon will only show limited companies. I wouldn't recommend Tynor, Flamingo or Visco stockings despite being cost effective. Out of the alternatives available on Amazon , better one would be Sorgen . You may use my code drsumit-21 to see if you can get a discount. Although Thigh level stockings are useful, they are not very comfortable to wear on a regular basis. Hence, we usually recommend below knee stockings

If swelling at end of the day is the only concern, you may go for Class 1 compression or support socks for 3 months along with other circulation methods that I have highlighted.

If there is preexisting darkness of skin, it is unlikely to go away even after varicose vein treatment. However, you would benefit by regular stockings, castor oil massage and application of Tacrolimus ointment ( for short duration)

Below knee is very comfortable for regular usage especially in summer, irrespective of the vein size. However at 6mm diameter, you might need some definite treatment in time to come

Mild tingling and aches are more common due to vitamin deficiency and muscle weakness. I would suggest a health checkup and then supplements followed by physiotherapy

It's great to hear that wearing stockings helped alleviate your leg pain. However, larger varicose veins will not go away without Surgery or laser. And pain is almost never an indication to treat varicose veins. So you might consider getting it done at your convenience.

Stockings will only keep the veins under control, so wear them regularly before undergoing surgery or treatment. But after treatment, it is required only for 3 months. However, in persons who have recurrences or have to be standing for long periods, it would be advisable to keep wearing after the surgery

Thigh pain is unlikely to be due to varicose veins. Get evaluated by an ortho or spine surgeon first.

Stockings keep the veins compressed till the time you wear them. The veins will not go away by wearing stockings.

Till the time you have varicose veins. If you've got them treated, then 3 to 6 months is fine. If someone has varicose veins and has not taken any definite treatment, then they have to keep wearing stockings as a routine!

Itching may be due to sensitive skin, sweating or quality of stockings. Apply talcum powder before wearing & then wash/ apply ice immediately after removal.
