Hey guys,
In this video, I have made you learn how to easily make the refrigerator compressor wiring connection, find the CSR Connection, and connect the right wire to your Compressor.
I took 2 fridge compressors. They are both different models. I'll show you how to connect the power and capacitor to it, albeit differently.
All process in this video:
I have already put the image in it for your understanding. Each compressor has three connection pins.
The bottom two pins of this compressor are the starting and running points. The above is common.
This compressor is again different from the previous one. Just the opposite design. But it doesn't matter. The pin below it is common. And on the top row is the running pin on the left side and the starting pin on the right side.
we will check common, running and starting pins.
This should be verified by placing a multimeter in continuous mode. Each time the resistance between the two pins should be checked.
Checking the bottom two pins of this compressor. It shows 69 ohms. Next check the ohms of the left side pin with the top pin. It shows 27 ohms.
Then check the ohms of the right side pin with the top pin. It shows 46 ohms.
One of the two pins showing more ohms is the starting connection and the other is the running connection.
On the other hand the remaining pin will be the common connection. And in the connection of the other two with the common connection, the one whose ohms is higher is the running pin, and the other is the starting pin.
So the top of this compressor is the common, the bottom left is the starting connection and the bottom right is the running connection.
2nd Compressore :
Checking the top two pins of this compressor. It shows 45 ohms. Next checking the ohms of the left side pin with the bottom pin. It is showing 24 ohms.
Checking the ohms of the right side pin with the bottom pin. It is showing 24 ohms.
One of the two pins showing more ohms is the starting connection and the other is the running connection.
On the other hand the remaining pin is the common connection. And in the connection of the other two with the common connection, the one whose ohms is higher is the running pin, and the other is the starting pin.
So the lower pin of this compressor is the common, the upper left is the running and the upper right is the starting connection.
These are OLP (over load protection kit). These kits are of different types. It is connected to the common pin and the common phase of the power supply is connected to it. It works even if it is connected to Nutal.
These are relays. Relays also vary. It is sometimes one pin or two pin. I have only these two types of relays. Different refrigerators may use different relays. But the work pattern is same.
Since I don't have an amp meter to measure current flow, I'm using a smart breaker. It usually shows on the display when it is close to 1 ampere or more.
Now after completing all the connections, connect the power to the smart breaker and connect the plug of the compressor.
Note, it is flowing air and the air has the right pressure. But its current flow is between 1 ampere and therefore nothing is pressing on the smart breaker.
A running capacitor of 3 microfarads is usually used here. A capacitor has no definite polarity. It is a non polar capacitor. So any thought can be attached to it. One pole of this is connected to the running pin and the other to the starting pin. And other connections are to be given as before.
It should be noted that using this capacitor reduces the amperage and thus reduces the power consumption.
Now we will connect the other compressor in the same way.
This compressor is drawing 4 to 7 amps due to malfunction. It is not working properly and it is shutting down automatically on over load system.
I will now show it by connecting the power directly to it. All compressors can be operated in this manner. But it is not good to use it like this. The compressor may be damaged and may not get proper air flow.
Therefore it is necessary to operate the compressor using all the kits.
