So what you are saying is "lets just sit passively like little fucking children and not have a conversation about a topic most of his fans find interesting", right ?
To the people that say «i have better Specs than you». In the description it says built in late 2015. In 2015 this could run pretty much 85-90% of games on high/ultra graphics
CΓΙΝGΞ I mean generally it is. Most of the newer stuff out there could kick the older stuffs butt! But as long as it runs the games you want more power to ya! As long as you enjoy yourself.
I imagine before this video you went outside and threw a clump of dirt into your face for the look and that dedication deserves a like. Great video Rift!
+This could have been a great username Dirt is more convenient, not everyone has a lighter handy, then again, not everyone is a chain-smoker either. Also, not everyone has a cork handy, then again, not everyone is mildly addicted to alcoholic beverages.
I had to have my dog Charlie put down today. He was the sweetest, friendliest, most loyal and kind dog anyone could have asked for. I just want to say your videos are helping me and I want to say thank you for that.
Hang in there my friend, I had to do the same with my dog so I feel you. I'm sure he's had an amazing life living by your side though (: Rest in peace Charlie
+Scott Devos Thank you brother, it's hard but I'm at peace knowing he lived a healthy long life being loved and exploring the world. He lived to the incredible age of 13 years and 9 months (which is very old for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) but was beginning to suffer from his heart condition. Your dog and my dog are at peace now having lived loving and fulfilling lives. :)

Kaya DaGoat He never said bleach. He’s referring to UV light injections, which are considered a disinfectant, and are used as an actual therapeutic. Look it up.
I just had a thought. What if you built Arkham Sanitarium IN Fallout 4 as a settlement and take us on a tour in character using the gameplay as a background?
Hahaha you just hear a explosion mid video, a giant hole on the side of the wall was blasted up and you see Preston Garvey, "ANOTHER SETTLEMENT NEEDS YOUR HELP, I'LL MARK IT ON YOUR MAP"
Well that might be really possible but we'd need to find some people in audience ready to help us to make a mode which our ASMR saviour :P would have to sub so that the mod could actually get into existence :P I wouldn't say its impossible
Just go buy a cheap compressor, long term it will save you money and a compressor always comes in handy :) I got a small compressor + air gun for about $50 at lowes, after 10 years of cleaning PCs with it I think I more than payed for it. Most cans of compressed air run about $4-5 a can and only lasts 1-2 cleanings.
Drinking game: swipe up on the comments and go to the less popular ones, then take a shot whenever you see anything about cable management or over clocking
Think of ram as short term memory, were you hold information for a small amount of time, hard drive is for long term memory like life events and what have you. Motherboard is spinal cord, connected all the essential parts together. The CPU is the brain, it does all the processing and is the most important part of the computer. The GPU is your eyes, the powersupply is your stomach or heart, gives all off the components their energy it needs. And the case is your body.
RAM isn’t necessarily short term memory, it is utilised all while the PC is turned on. The OS is put from the hard drive onto the RAM once the PC is powered up, and it will utilise said OS the entire time. It also places applications from the hard drive onto the ram so that they can be worked on. Memory is only lost as soon as an application closes, or when the entire PC is turned off where the memory is lost
Indeed, back when asthetics (butchered that word probably) were not taken into consideration and bare performance was key. Many ketchup and mustard cables flooded these systems as well as open drive bay, non existent cable management slotting, no psu shroud and naked ass pcbs on gpus. I love the evolution and enjoy it as a hobby.
Definitely one of the best ones so far! Loved the PC talk as a PC gamer haha. Plus the sounds with the pencil against the metal of the case were really great. Very awesome relaxing video. The repairman series is definitely tied with Corvus as my favorites ;).
Actually 90% of all hardware failures were caused by dirt and dust making electronic components to overheat. The most important thing is to keep you pc or notebook clean.
All right Rift, let's get down to the nitty gritty. When are we getting another compute video? I know that I for one would greatly appreciate it with suPREME DEDICATION
@@LDGRXR agreed. All those people living in hand-built homes in poorer countries? They just need to upgrade lol, I don't see what the fuss is about.....
You put me in the mind of Count Olaf based on how well you rock different looks. You’re almost unrecognizable from video to video as it pertains to the many characters you play! Pretty awesome! Thanks for putting so much thought into these videos! Love your work!
Would love another video with the repairman roleplay fixing another device maybe a laptop or kitchen appliance. This one puts me to sleep a charm keep up the good work!
I don't know why, but I really enjoyed this video. I watched it from the beginning to the end, no interruptions, no skipping, I just watched the full video, I got goosebumps all over by body for some odd reason and you have a great voice :D
Why are people criticizing his components...telling him his psu and cooler isn't good enough? People love commenting just to flex their knowledge about computers when nothing calls for it. Obviously his computer is serving him well according to the description.
This computer is so much cleaner than most computers I've ever seen as an IT technician. Most people don't understand that computers need to be cleaned from time to time. I'd say it's not 100% correct, but nice job explaining the parts in simple terms. Sidenote: I really hope that's an anti-static brush you're using.
The best analogy I've found for storage and memory is long-term and short-term memory. One is for stuff you wanna hang onto for a while but don't need right away, but the other is for stuff you need to multitask between.
my specs: CPU: Intel G620 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 Power Supply: 250w RAM: 4GB DDR3 Now before you you go insulting me in the replies, yes I know my specs suck but I'm currently very very tight on cash (me and my dad lost our jobs and are job hunting) and this rig I have is the best I could afford and I'm satisfied with it. I can run rocket league, universe sandbox 2, csgo, and a few others at 60+ fps. I'm currently saving up to get some new parts for my rig but its gonna be awhile.
If you ever notice games getting laggy while watching streams or videos in the background or if your browser becomes slow if you open more tabs than usual consider upgrading to 8 gigs of ram. Otherwise that sounds like a well balanced rig. ^^
This was not only relaxing, but informative. Especially helpful considering I've recently been set on expanding my knowledge of electronics. People looking to study up on computers and expecting this to be a 'normal' video have another thing coming. They'll be so lost, haha.
I am very lucky, i have a overclocked 970 EVGA for 3-4 years now and it's still awesome, i can run the majority of games in Ultra/full specs at 1080p 60fps (the only game that i have who i can't run in Ultra is GTA 5). I also have a Intel Core I7 4790k and 16gb of ram. My computer is really awesome.
TheCleanest I mean.. as do I. It’s nothing to brag about. As long as you game and have fun that’s all that matters. That’s what the hobby is about man!
+theMightyWebb i dont want to be part of this pc master race clusterfuck, but he is right. While the gpu he has is pretty good , its literally nothing next to a high end 980 ti, 1080 or titan X. those could run the listed games above at a resolution of 4k with no lag, some while recording. so yea, hig gpu is a pretty good mid range gpu, but its not "pretty friggin powerful"
If ya all gone brag how your PC is better then just give it to him coz he will put it into a much greater use then just playing games. Editing videos and stuff takes a lot of time and effort.
This was the very first ER video I ever watched. It's what got me into his channel and asmr. I even remember that the second video I ever saw of his was daves thrift shop.
To create the rift world get a huge blender, add around 5 HP Lovecraft Novels, 7 lbs of hard, seizure inducing drugs, around 2 pounds of just about any misc thing you can find around your house, and just enough determination to wear a fish costume for an hour plus to make people go to sleep.
As much as i love Ephemeral Rift and this video on how to clean the computer and him naming off computer parts/specs.. i feel its sadly in bad taste... the comments section is full of hate from alot of people telling him his cable management is bad and how he has an AMD and crappy configs and all these questions on what he's running.. but clearly people seem to be missing the point... that its an ASMR video and who cares... i kinda wish he pulled out an old rig like windows 5.1 and stated it could run fallout on the internal graphics lol. just so people could realize its merely fantasy.
Just a little tidbit for you, Repairman. That "I E E E" [eye-triple-e] card has FireWire [IEEE 1394] ports on it. Popularized by Apple, they didn't catch on much outside the prosumer video camera ecosystem. IEEE is an organization, not a port, though they do set standards for quite a few ports and other ubiquitous specs, like WiFi (802.11) and such.
No wonder you're in the Arkham sanitarium... I mean what madman would use a stock cooler on an unlocked processor and leave it on stock settings, then buy a 750w powersupply for that build. And at that use a Corsair CXM green unit - oh my god - and look at that cable management.. Truly the work of a madman.
honeslty the comment's toxic kids are leaving are just hilarious, because I know that the person leaving them probably thinks a 1660 ti is better than a 1080 ti because the number is higher on the 1660 ti. Take the comments with a grain of salt
