MajorPrep Thank you so much for this video. I really like your RU-vid channel. I'm currently in college taking general ed classes. My major is computer science and I really don't know where to start off and what classes to take as a beginner. Would you mind making a video on what classes/ courses cs students should consider taking in their freshman year in details by listing all the prerequisites for any programming language and all other cs courses. Because that's what confuses me a lot. Some people tell you to take java first while some others tell you to take C++ or C#, python, ruby, HTML & CSS etc. I would really like specific guide or path to follow so that I can pursue cs degree without confusion. In addition to that, I have no prior coding experience. I am an absolute beginner. Please give me some suggestions.
eddison lewis OMG I wish I Loved it :( I majored in computer science but because I’m literally shit at programing and most of the courses I took. I feel like it’s just not for me. But unfortunately I’m too far in to quite ,only got a year hopefully left. But I just feel so inadequate and useless in this field :( Any tips for me?

I loved this video...very well done and refreshing compared to the other "Career Overview" videos I've seen for Computer Science. I have a degree in Biology and have already written down those genetics companies you mentioned so that I can see their job posts, and if I have a potential future in bioinformatics by the time I get some CS classes under my belt. Honestly the CS industry as a whole seems like a playground - so many interesting things: security, cryptography, image/video rendering, mobile app development, new algorithms. Thank you again.
Awesome! I'm transferring from a community college with an Associates in Science into the CIT program at my local university. I've never been that great at math and after watching your video I think system administration or networking would probably be the best for me.
I know I'm two years late to see this, but I hope you read it. Thanks for making this. I'm probably going into computer science and I had no idea what my options were. This helps out things into perspective and honestly makes me more confident about pursuing this degree because it seems like I have pretty good options.
I have just finished my course work and was confused at deciding what project topic that falls within computer science and not related fields like computer engineering until i saw your video. Thank you. You made my work easier. 👍
I'm thinking about getting into a computer career. This is my first time hearing like different titles about working on computers. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I just need to find the right title that will fit me with dealing with computers because I like working all computers.
Man i have been so indecisive with CS on whether or not i should major in it and your videos definitely boosted my confidence to go after this major. I have such a better understanding about it now. Keep up the good work!!!
I got a recommendation from youtube for the video is math needed for Computer science engineering.. I am seeing the whole playlist in a row without a break.. Great information 👌🙂
Great video! I'd like to add (after 15 years in this field) that depending on what you do in computer science, self-teaching is often way more important than the degree itself, as this field requires that you're constantly up-to-date with its crazy evolving pace and Universities just can't keep up. The most important thing is to be curious, curious and curious to always learn new notions and to apply those to your job.
Best explanation ever for a Computer Science Field, as i m a Student of Computer Science... will recommend everyone to watch if you are interested or want to know about Computer Science... Thanks Alot To this Channel.. + Subscribed... Love yea...
Let me note that "Computer Graphics" programming doesn't only involve images. There's been some work on writing GPGPU software, i.e. CUDA/OpenCL, that accelerates system processes that are traditionally given to CPUs. In particular, anything that can benefit from parallel computing will need GPU software.
I love your videos, man! Mechanical Engineering sounded really apealing to me at first, but after seeing the mech eng, Elec eng, and CS videos, I'm thinking Electrical Engineering with a focus on electronics or computers sounds more like me. May also minor in CS... But idk yet. Thanks for making these!
thank you very much!....i have just been offered admission to study computer science in the university , and with this video i now have a clear and satisfying knowledge of what am venturing into ......thank you
Your videos are truly informative... it would be great if you and I can talk one on one about some other questions I have. Thanks for making such videos and rock on!!
Thank you! And find the link to the majorprep facebook page at the bottom of the description and you can send me a message and I'll be happy to help :). If you don't have facebook then feel free to email me at zach@majorprep.com.
Make a video explaining differences between SDET Engineers vs QA Engineers. You explain so well, you might have different way of delivering than others. Curious to see what you'd have. Thanks.
These videos are awesome, man ! If I may ask, what do/did you study ? I, myself, am studying computer science right now and I can say that these videos are really helpful for someone who is in doubt about what they want to do. Keep up the good work ! :D
I like your channel so much, because it feeds us with a lot of useful information which changes people's lives. I have one worry, which is to know the difference between software development and engineering. I am looking for a career in the computer field but don't know which should I choose among the many that exists. Thank you.
So glad you like the channel! Really means a lot to hear the positive feedback. I have a video just like this one but on computer engineering careers and subfields coming out in 2 weeks, so I hope that helps you as well!
Thanks for the vid, man. I decided to change my industry as the one I got was trash and useless. I will be taking courses for programming language as I don’t have resources for uni for now😅
Best part is that you don't actually need any college for some of these. You can be self taught. Job requirements are usually more of a wish list than actual requirements. If you have the skills, apply anyways. Employers care more about your skills than your qualifications in several tech careers.
Awesome video. I'm in the process of earning my CS degree to hopefully change departments within my company. This video is exaclty what I've been looking for. Well done sir.
Thanks for noticing! Yeah wanted to try something new. And like I said in the A.I. video many schools actually don't offer A.I. as a major, but SOME do (as you would notice in the comments), just depends on where you live. But yes if it is offered at your school then you should be able to do this, however check the requirements for a master's in mechatronics to see whether you need to take some additional courses.
Hi, I just wanted to say that your videos are great and they have helped me. I was also wondering if it was possible for me to get my Master's in physics if I was to enter computer science in my undergraduate.
@@maxdegreat566 Are you asking about what field I chose? I basically am a web developer by this video's definition but my job title is 'application engineer', it all depends on where you work,
You have some videos about computer science and saying the name of Hacker dozens of time but you could make a video about Hackers that's also a part of computer science, They are also artist who know computer very well.
I know that UI/UX is something that I want to do but I know that it isn’t the most stable or the most in demand career. Another thing that catches my eye is App Development but I have been told my everyone around me that I won’t find any jobs with either careers. My dad told me to settle for something like software engineering but I’m not sure if that will give me the satisfaction of using my creative brain. I’m a high school student in the North Bay that plans to major in computer science, and potentially find work in the San Francisco area. Is there any “safe” careers that still allow me to be creative?
