Also here’s a tip: If any of you are the kind of person to make fun of people on discord, it is not a good idea to put ur Facebook in bio. One of my friends was being made fun of on a discord server and so she used the Facebook link in their bio, used that to get their LinkedIn, and got their phone number from there, then gave the phone number to her cousin who is a bit of a hacker, and she dmed the person with their ip, phone number, provider and a bunch of other stuff including the town they lived in.

I deal with scam calls by phone putting a metal bowl over my phone after answering and banging it with a wooden spoon until they hang up. 😂 works every. Single. Time.

Please for the love of god do not download a random virus on your virtual machine, it USUALLY doesn't spread past it, but depending on what kind of virus it is, it can very easily get out of the virtual machine and onto your real computer. If you value anything on your computer it is never worth downloading viruses. At that point just get a spare laptop if you really want to run viruses. edit: Let me make this clear, it's very rare that it will spread onto your real computer, but if it does your basically done for. To stay on the safer side just get a cheap laptop you don't really care about

Make sure you use a different drive for your VM, anything from DVDs to SSDs. I will always remember that one guy in a Roblox game with me claiming they "had wireshark open" and were going to get my IP. What they didn't know is that my ISP provides us with VPNs.

i once changed the class laptop's admin password and uninstalled programs. it didn't end very well for me. please kids don't do it.

Using a VM is a good idea on software that you don't know what it does. BUT there is malware that can "escape" out of the VM and then attack your real OS. So still be careful what you run.

if you are using a virtual machine, DO NOT LINK A FILE TO A VM THAT IS ALREADY ON YOUR REAL PC. the virus can infect that file which is connected to your main pc so your pc gets hacked also. so do not link any files to your main pc or to your vm.
