One of the so-called "holy trinity" of Nicolas Cage action flicks, Con Air is the story of a maximum security prison airplane being hijacked, and our con with a heart of gold, Nicolas Cage, doing everything in his power to make sure the good guys win and the bad guys EXPLODE! Preferably after he's already off the plane, and a safe distance away.

My dad has type 1. If he had a few good meals recently and was on top with his shots, he could go a couple days without if he just ate a little bread and water. However he eventually went to long and went into kitoacidosis. He eventually had a fatal heart attack and was revived with brain damage. But if the guy was at the point he couldn't move he would have spasms and even after having his shot would have irreversible damage and need medical attention beyond just taking his normal meds

Fun fact: this movie helped spread the "hands are registered deadly weapons" nonsense. There's not a single jurisdiction in the United States where hands are intrinsically considered lethal force because of training level. You either beat someone to death or you don't. Anyone who tries to impress you by saying something like "my hands are registered lethal weapons" is both a poser and an idiot.

@matthiasthulman4058
@matthiasthulman4058 2 года назад
Can confirm. At least in a regular prison, if control is lost and we are taken hostage, the cavalry will make an attempt, but we are sort of expendable. Everyone is, nurses, any staff, guards. We're also told that if we are still in a control room, but surrounded, to never open the main doors regardless of what threats are made against staff or hostages. Then the horrid choice of opening the door or watching Nurse Molly get her head ripped off is in my hands.

As someone who works for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice I can tell you that no facility that has inmates will have firearms in areas were the inmates are at. The reason for this can be seen in the movie when Cyrus jumps the pilot and takes his gun. Most units only have fire arms in the towers, the vehicles that patrol the outside of the unit, and a small secure armory outside the outer perimeter fence.

You were out on that Wing in the rain and you didn't even get your hair wet! That's haircare level 20 right there!

17:08 If someone hasn't seen this movie before watching this review, that shot of John Malkovich holding the stuffed bunny hostage, will be a really weird.

Is spotting Decker's dog sometime through videos going to be a thing now because I'm all for that.

I cannot help it... I miss the couch... And is it only me or is the sound worse now? You have the volume properly set and when Decker is shouting - the paint is falling from your walls. But no matter what - I will always watch every single episode from start to finish!

Ain't no way that I'd give this movie a 3 out of 5. No siree, Bob! I'm personally going to give it a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. I love this movie! Ving Rhames as The Diamond Dawg, John Malkovich as Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom, and our hero, Nicholas Cage as Cameron Poe. Loved seeing Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo, John Cusack, and others in their own respective supporting roles, as well.

Okay. Troops come home short term, on leave mid deployment Decker, if there is a good enough reason for it. Reasons like a death in the family, ir a serious medical issue involving a family member. Dad did in 83, when mom had to go in for eye surgery, and was home from Okinawa for 3 weeks of family leave, while her retina healed. So yes, the timeline could work in this movie. He could have been home, at the right time

One thing to note is, with Poe being in the Army, he most likely would have been taken to Fort Leavenworth instead of some other prison. Also, the most nostalgic thing about this video is when Decker has a backdrop showing a gas sign with the gas prices being $1.03. Even adjusting for inflation, that's still cheap as FUCK.
