I feel you didn't give the steamer a fair shot since you only used one hand when steaming. You have to pull down on the pant leg with your other hand to make it slightly taught, and then run the steamer over it at the same time. The slight tension coupled with the steam melts away the wrinkles. The trick to steamers is definitely hanging it up correctly and using both hands.

If you live somewhere with winter seasons, you have sweaters that can smell musty if they’re been in storage. The steamer freshens them up so you don’t have to wash them all again. Same goes with jackets that smell like food because you wore them to a restaurant with strong cooking smells. The steamer makes them fresh again.

I feel you, but you may want to open the tool bag. I finally did and guess what? The silicone band worked great on my wrinkled khakis. And compared to the iron, it didn’t leave pressing or heat marks. There was no fading or discoloration. I use 2 hands for both iron and steamer. I still need to practice, and i need to learn how to use the create tool. but i’m pleased this far.

Pull it taught and then steam it by pressing the head into the pants, it’ll work much better. The iron pulls the pants taught on the ironing board which is essentially like making it the way you want it to be and then baking it solid.

I bought this specifically to steam things to sanitize things that CAN'T be ironed, such as luggage. My mom's apartment building was infested with bedbugs. Thankfully they got it under control, but I wasn't taking any chances after visiting her. I bought this steamer to sanitize my suitcase after out in the garage before bringing it in to my house. Frequent travellers who stay in hotels may want to have this steamer on hand for that purpose. Even high end hotels can have bedbugs, and trust me, you do NOT want them hitching a ride back to your home in your suitcase, which is apparently the most common way they spread.

It’s so powerful that you can actually use it to sanitize and deodorize mattresses, box springs, and pillows as well as killing bed bugs. It’s not just for quickly removing wrinkles from clothing or window treatments. Just put in on max power, go slowly with overlapping passes, and tackle all sides, the piping, and every little nook and cranny.
@sharonschimmel2026
@sharonschimmel2026 3 года назад
The steamer, like your iron....has to actually make contact with the material for it to work like it should. The comparision is like holding your iron just above the fabric of what you are trying to get the wrinkles out of without resting it actually ON the fabric, your iron would not work effectively either if you used the same method. When you iron, you motion it over the fabric in constant waves across the pants or whatever piece of clothing you are working with and not letting it stay concentrated in one spot so that the fabric does not scortch/burn. Thank you for taking your time in sharing!
@wonStarReviews

Thanks for your comments Sharon. If you can see when I'm using the steamer, I am making alot of contact with the fabric. The pants are swaying back and forth as I go up and down on the pants. i don't doubt that the iron would do a better job here. however - your technique with the steamer was a little questionable. maybe in rewatching you might see that : you kinda waved it over relatively fast up and down. what if you spot steamed the areas with the heavier wrinkles? you also spent a lot more time at the top and bottom of your passes. for you the steamer is probably worthless. but for things that are a bit more delicate, or that you wouldn't use an iron on they can be useful (like blazers, cardigans, sweaters, linen).

Un-wrinkle = iron-out. Delicate and Delicates are not the same word. Ak -ses-sore-ee. Get your Vana White on! The Conair makes it almost impossible to iron out the ends of the garments. Just like you show for the left pant leg.

This is a bad and pretty negative review seems like you did not have open mind going in. I started using mine today at the same time I started watching videos and came across yours as well and I don't think you see the value in this product. Maybe try it again with an open mind?

Thanks for your comment. Honestly I really tried to like this thing. When i filmed this, it was my second time trying to make a go after I returned the first one and messed with the attachments. If I was un-wrinkling sheer drapes this would have worked, but not for anything I would put on.

Again....you HAVE...to actually touch the fabric with the steamer, like you actually touch the fabric with your iron.
@EdwinChenLoo

Even if one were to 'iron' with that steamer on an ironing board, the total surface area of the iron is way bigger. The point of the steamer is to use it without an ironing board thus the pressure against the fabric will be less no matter what. The only advantage of the steamer is on delicate surfaces. At most, it could be as good as an iron but would take way more time.

You also completely know how to use your iron and you don't know how to use the steamer. You seem to have also made up your mind before you even started. JMO

1- You should make the video when you have more experience, so we can actually learn something. 2- You look too much at the camera during the Conair test, and this is about the steamer and your pants, not about you. Thx for trying.
