The new commands are barely working like my thrall only does what i tell him less then half of the times. The Ai is even more broken now, my thrall keep staring at mobs hiting me or hiting him and ocasionaly does 1 atack and hides the sword again. And this happens quite often now, mainly in dungeons , and for some reason in Sobek cave he becomes 100% useless just sitting there doing nothing. I Feel like this is so unfinished like they had to do this in a hurry
It looks to me like the follower AI is targeting only one enemy at the time even if there is multiple around, most of the times she stopped fighting because the one she was targeting at the moment was behind the other enemies and she could not reach her target. I bet that if you would have had equipped her with a ranged weapon too, she would had changed to that in those cases and we would had seen her shooting the one enemy standing behind the others. Also aquiring a new target seems to take some time, because you can see she started to walk back to her guard position after killing one of the enemies instead of attacking another one instantly. That's why commanding her was effective because it relieved the AI from selecting target. So they probably need to change AI to be more flexible in target selection and not to lock on one target only, but to constantly re-target to the closest enemy instead. Sure there were moments when she just bugged out too with no real reason to stop fighting, and that staggering those maces do is lethal.
I run around with the Arena Champion. The current version I spawned in, but the original was organically tamed. When the update droped she had a knockout bar that regenerated, but the knockout ointment + thrall = glitchy knockout possibility. If you take suggestions, should take a look at her next.
Better late than never, but FYI. Your thrall locks one target only and unlike NPCs they take a long time to change targets if they cannot kill their primary target. The worst case scenario is a dagger using enemy. When they backflip away and other NPCs crowd your thrall, your thrall will just take a beating because she is focused on the dagger user that is now out of reach.
I don't know if you're still checking these comments but I found out today that it seems like a Frost Giant Pet won't attack Ladagara at all. It also seems if she is around the Frost Giant just won't attack anything. Don't know if it was just wonky ai or is a programmed feature of that pet. If be interested to know if you could test this out. Thanks.
214/5000 it was interesting to see the possibility of the NPC really "losing" or dying, the construction was absolutely beautiful and not seeing the slave's life on top of him was terrible. (your Conan content always wonderful)
Haven't played the game since the update, but I am so disappointed that this is still happening with the AI after all this time...it's like 1 step forward 3 steps backwards. Any more updates and the game will have to go back to Alpha
Not only is the thrall AI much, much worse now since this new dlc but also I am experiencing thralls falling under the map and then they die . This is really a major pain because it has happened 4 times now to thralls that are high leveled, 2 were capped and they were nicely geared. Now I am afraid to take my thralls out with me for fear of losing them. This new dlc has really ruined the thralls as well as building. I still have problems with building pieces disappearing everytime I log in even though the pieces that disappear have a stability of 75. I think 40 is the lowest stability rating of some that disappear. And when will they fix purges ? They still spawn inside buildings f.f.s ?
I appreciate the updates to the game but what are they doing on the test live server? Because the amount of bugs and messed up AI that I can find in just an average 2-3 hour session is unreal
Yes seen many issues, even game crashes. I like how they keep giving us new content. (Much appreciated) But I think its more important to fix all the issues before adding more content. By the Firespark81I Love all your videos, they have helped a lot, keep up the good work.
Glad you found the video helpful. Also they redid the new AI from ground up. Its going to take a lot more fixes to get it working 100% AI is not easy. If you run into issues post detailed info on the forums for them so they can look into it.
Thank you for the review, as always. Also, this was a good introduction to the new Thrall AI. Confirms that I'll be leaving my better thralls at home until we have a few more updates (hope the scheduled thrall nerf comes after the AI gets a bit of polish). Honestly, the new AI and Sudden Thrall Death Syndrome are nerf enough.
The AI is MUCH worse now! My thralls get stuck in spots and when they do they won’t even teleport to you and they don’t respond to commands most of the time.. It’s a complete train wreck Not to mention you need an instruction manual to even understand the menus. Arks system is simple.. Why all this nonsense? On console we also don’t have individual keys so gl figuring out how many times you have to press the square button to get them to do something and then they mostly just ignore you anyways 🤷♂️
Yeah put a new weapon on her with longer reach, looks like she can't reach the her current target (shes not targeting the closest target all the time) , so she just stands there but is likely trying to move closer and is blocked by other opponents.
She is OP and that's why you can't make her your thrall normally. This is just my opinion but i believe the Devs use her specifically to test capabilities of thralls. You can give her the worst weapon in the game and she will still kill stuff with it. She also my goto for when i wanna knock out thralls i wanna put into the wheel. I have also hate the rework on the AI atleast when it comes to taking on multiple enemies. Their AI's reset after each time they kill an enemy hence why they re-equip their weapon. Also to prevent stun locking i thought to equip my Ladagara with a shield to hope she blocks the attacks when she's surrounded and she uses the shield to guard maybe 12% of the time she's attacked. Hope they take another look at the AI and make the neccesary adjustments. If they do think about making her obtainable legit then i can see her hp getting nerfed by 70% but the exp needed to level her up to max is way to excessive doing it legit. After an eventual fix to the thrall AI i would love to see you touch base on her again cause i don't think the devs will nerf her since you can't obtain her legitimately. Love your videos and looking forward to the next one you make.
Also found out Ladagara is not the best boss thrall you can spawn in with the highest HP. If you spawn the Witch Queen into your inventory as a thrall she will have 66,600 HP with the HP bonus. Down side she has no points into STR which may be a bit of a problem. Arena Champion however is the best boss thrall via admin commands with the best STR stats and hits like a God once you max her level and get the right perks. FireSpark if you read this considered adding a separate section for thralls that can be only added via admin commands because they are truly in a tier of their own. Fyi ritual keeper from Dagon dungeon is a priest thrall and can not be placed in case you were gonna try her which is sad cause I would of loved to see her stats. Edit: mixed up thralls in my testing was Ladagara that has 63 STR.
Because they revamped the AI for both followers and hostile critters/NPCs, there's a hell of a lot of, ahem, stuff going on. I think the ideas behind what they're doing are solid, but they will need some work, as I'm sure there are a lot of unintended consequences right now. One of the tough ones is that followers can get lost and die during teleports. Even the critters are fighting each other, even non combatants. I saw an Komodo just kill a rabbit today. Never seen that. Archers now back up an infinite distance if chased. And yeah, thralls still derp out pretty hard, forgetting how to attack, etc. I choose to be hopeful, but entering some places/dungeons right now puts your thrall at great risk. Most content is still possible, but I have taken multiple goes at the Red Mother, and haven't had any luck. At some point, she just loses interest and goes back to her spot, suddenly healing up to full. Frustrating.
I feel like there's definitely something wrong with the thralls, as this video displays. They don't seem to follow properly, and "Attack All Enemies" is shaky. I took my thrall to the Sunken City, but they just floated around in the water and didn't help me when I surfaced into each area, nor were they even behind me. I feel like with any resolution, several more problems introduce themselves.
You used to be able to knock her out when she came in the purge from near asagarth, idk if that was fixed in the last update though, I havent tested it.

They broke the AI. I go out on solo missions on PS4 and my thrall pulls out their weapon then put it right back away. Another issue is the thrall following too close and getting you stuck. I had to take off my bracelet because I was stuck in someone else’s base hallway with stairs up to a door. Stuck right up against the door and I couldn’t reposition the thrall or get them to move.
Try green dragons as enemies! They are good to knock you up and have decent HP. Killing one is not a big deal for a thrall, but 2-3 at the same time could be fun to watch. Or just 2 and a red motha'. However the mace and other small weapons are still don't work very well against them.
Could you explain how to get 35% strength bonus on thralls? There for effect top left corner? In your dalinsia video you said you gave some food for her, but i can't find any reference. :( Keep up the good work my dude, you are awesome.
The AI locks on to one target and if the thrall can't reach that target it just stands there until you command it to attack one in the range of the thrall
Ok so Ive always known about arena champions as they've been my favorite thralls and are usually my comparison when scaling how strong a thralls set up is I never knew about Ladagara or the fact that....shes that damn insane. Like seriously.......tf I honestly think she couldve handled those 3 and wasnt struggling. Most shit doesnt even survive getting jumped by 2 of them let alone 3 (theyre very good at knocking down your thrall if its more than 1 so beware of stun lock like you saw here) Like im known for having dumb op thralls amongst friends, this.....this is borderline God tier. Like im pretty sure shed make Conan her bitch its terrifying
I found I have to access the thrall inventory in order to get them to draw their weapons. Otherwise they just punch. I feel like the new ai is worse than before. Hopefully they can tweak it.
She's not swinging because she's getting dogpiled! This isn't like pre-update where only three at a time attack. Also, the new AI is programmed to retreat once damage hits a certain threshold. You have to let the AI play out. When you throw out multiple commands like that, you create conflicts. *My* Ladagara I could've placed in there and she'd've dusted that crew of Legion knights or whatever without me micromanaging the fight.
The arena champions....she still wouldve been stun locked since they all use maces. Not doubting your thrall but what he did was normal when dealing with arena champions They will hym up anything they outnumber unless its non humanoid
Can anyone help? I dnt have second level commands on thralls or horses is there anyway to fix this ? I have pc version on regular mode not testlive. In my command circle I only have. Follow/breakbond/stand guard/inventory. How do I get the rest of commands?
Are you running any mods? I'm running Better Thralls and there is an issue between that and the new system - with only a normal single follower I can give the new commands by tapping 'E', but can't get the radial menu for the new commands to come up - with more than one follower, I can't give the commands or get the radial menu. Is it possible you're having a similar issue? (Oh - and don't worry about not getting commands on the horses - as far as I'm aware, they're not supposed to have them - maybe someone else can confirm or deny that?)
If you see this again... I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. I tried the testlive. It worked at first when started a new game but then stoped working. I forgot to mention that I was using a Xbox1 controller on my pc. But I tried just using the key and mouse and it still didn’t work. I really did like this game had been playing for a while but if I can’t fix this issue I probably won’t anymore.
The new AI is buggy as a locust swarm. The default following distance is even closer than it was before. If you use the other mode to have 4 followers, they surround ya & trap ya in place. Walk into the water & as soon as the thrall or animal is submerged, it just stops. It SAYS it's still following, but just stays in place on the river/pond/lake bottom. You can't even interact with them by looking through the "water's surface" - ya have to submerge yourself, pick them up & carry them to shore, set them down "on guard" & then order them to follow again.
@@kingsamoa666 I took my lvl 6 Frost Giant Pet into the Unnamed City to get some levels fighting skeletons.... and at the bottom of the steps near the Obelisk, it fell through the map up to it's shoulders & just stood there while 4 skeleton surrounded it & continuously stabbed it in the head till it died.

Normally you cannot but you can spawn her in as a thrall in admin mode. Alternatively you can also download a mod that allows all humanoid npc’s to be vulnerable to getting enthralled and you can try to knock her out legitimately
I have died multiple times because my thrall would just stand there while I'm being slaughtered. This issue has been there since the beginning and there is no update from dev.
They seemed to have had it weeded out for the most part until they recently redid the AI. Looks like a lot of old problems are back. I sent them this video to look over. If you run into any issues you should post them on the official forums. Be a detailed as possible with your bug report so they can try to narrow down the problems.
What happens is, sometimes when you get attacked or start the attack, your thrall just stands there. Either I have to stand still, then the thrall will aggro on them once they hit me. Or I have to run a few steps away and return before the aggro is triggered
This new patch update is F'ed up. I was farming the Black Keep for hearts, killed the boss an ran back to my base at the Crevice. When i got back, no thrall. Tried the new commands, nothing. Waited around, nothing. Logged out an back in, nothing. Checked the log, nothing. She was a LvL 18 Dalinsia Snowhunter, she just vaninished into thin air.
But I agree, they f'ed up with this update. Before, your followers teleported every 3 seconds which looked kinda silly but at least they were always around. Yesterday I fast traveled via my map-room while my horse was following, and when I spawned at the obelisk he was nowhere to be found. Checked my tracking list and he was still at my map-room at the other side of the map ... had to go back to get him. So annoying. Oh and btw, I heard some people got their follower killed by elevators because they spawned weird and fell down to their death. So beware
I lost a Tarman in the Sunken City yesterday. I had to solo almost the whole thing, because he got bugged somehow, and suddenly I got the message that he had died while following me. Very nearly lost a Waros the Breaker in the volcano, as well. Had to grab another thrall and carry him half way across the Unnamed City today, because he'd bugged out and couldn't move. He later derped hard and couldn't attack. Fun times. Got him working but only after parking him and switching to an entirely different type of weapon.
The AI and the way thralls basically sit right on top of you after the update has broken the game. Its hardly playable now. They need to fix this shit asap
lol spawned 10 the other day, level'd them to 20 and kept the best. put it in the best heavy str armor, war paint, gruel n cooked pork. on top of that threw a sword of crom on it and she wrecked everything *edit* also i think its dmg multiplier is 9+
Mace is one of the best weapons for a thrall, not only does it have hyper armour, Aja's bane adds +5 strength and is a simple weapon for a thrall to use.
set to follow, prioritize melee, set higher attack and chase distance, then command to attack by aiming at something and pressing e or holding it to bring up radial menu. I'm not having any of the problems you have doing this.
She never should be and if so it should be 1 per server at all times. She could literally solo most players bases they need to keep her ass locked away lmao
Nah I have seen Ark and atlas AI handle way more and ark is on an older version of UE4. They just need to work out all the kinks in this new update. They are not getting enough data from testlive atm because not enough people are playing on it.
@@Firespark81 After thought, the NPCs are always on the attack (except those first bears). The only other thing I could say to check is to have them engage on the ground or on a base game platform. Something I was always aware of with DLC build sets is, the Followers had a habit of falling in to them on occasion. So the AI gets disoriented with elevations and I wonder if the reason they stop attacking is, they are stuck in a pathing command to reach the enemy as it stutters on and off the foundations. At least in the code. I've seen UE4 games make better use of the engine too. Just not Conan Exiles. It has always struggled with Followers and I don't know if it's engine, server or just really bad commands in the code.
Its the shitty coding, FC needs to hire some professionals and sit back and let them sort it out Too many games use ue4 and runs all too well for this to our reality. The engine can handle some ridiculous, and I mean beyond dumb amount scripting and processing, FCs just ass at optimization

No you can't tame her conventionally. Human bosses with the white borders and skulls can not be tamed but you can use admin commands to spawn them into your inventory as freshly tamed thralls which you can place and welcome them into your fold.
this lady is out of any logic in any case afther the patch I have many problems on ps4. crashes, thralls that disappear and die and much more, but specifically I have noticed that more and more often my thrall fights without a weapon, with punches and kicks
The A.I. after update still sucks and is even worse... The thrall even with one boss stucks sometimes, and do nothing.... and for the thrall to teleport back to you.... you have to go very far away.... evry past year was better.... lol
Let them know on the official forums what is happening. Give them a detailed description of any issues you have this way they can try to stomp out these issues.
Thralls get stuck on buildings, water, ground elevations, and more, also pets. To me most frustrating bug is that they don’t follow and I keep losing them. Sometimes they even die if they are stuck somewhere with enemies. You cannot disengage fights and they continue to fight, because they don’t teleport back to you even if you run away. I’ve tried to write on Funcon bug forums something that is happening on the sp right now. Sp game is almost unplayable right now, you have to rely on yourself with fights now.
