Thanks for the tip about drying plant fiber for seeds. I've been lamenting in oil procurement hell!

not sure if you know about this, but a more efficient way of going about your oil production is to just have at least a tier3 alchemist in your alchemist's bench and he or she will give you a recipe to make oil.. it just required 1 bark and 1 ichor and it will give you 5 oils.. fast and easy.. no more harvesting bugs like a mad man or a lady like you... 🤣oh.. btw.. it's a very cool little production facility you have there.. 😅 also been waiting for your savage wilds playthrough... 😂

I recently started just collecting thousands of seeds then throwing them in the press. The new event they have going on with the sorcerers is also a great way to get seeds. Just buy the materials. No more fish traps for me haha I couldn’t stay consistent with filling them every day. Seeds is the only way!!

Beautifully built, I like it! 🤩 Little tip, especially for the lazy people. (like me) 😅 The Automatic Fish Trap mod works great. No need to constantly refill insects. Just place it and wait. Then you can take care of the really important things. Like conquering the world or something. xD

I remember when the fish baskets auto generated fish and I heard they were gonna fix them. I filled 3 vaults with oil 😂. I miss playing conan pve, it was so much more relaxed and actually enjoyable.

Wow that's a really cool base, the elevator by the water looks so awesome! Sorry to hear about your PC but it looks like you got it all sorted now. I had crashes a while back and found out it was the thermal paste which was causing everything to overheat. Excited to see the next episode of your savage wilds gameplay!

I am really impressed with your base I like incorporating waterfalls and yours look spectacular.

Might I suggest that instead of using insects to put into your fish traps, try using Fat Grubs instead? Put down some composters (I use a one to one ratio with the number of traps I have) and as long as each has some compost in it, they will create grubs without using any resource up. Then move the grubs to the traps and only a few hours later, 50 grubs will be in each composter again so you can repeat the process which, as I already said, uses no resources and you have only to put in 2 minutes worth of work walking from the composters to the traps....

Could also use all that fiber on a plant based tannery for making your leather. Instead of bark, and use ur bark for other things, like making ur oil, via alchemist.

even early on if you go east to Flotsam, and dive for gold in the sunken chests around buccaneer bay, then climb the end of the scaffolding, drop down when a single guy tries to come after you then climb back up to the merchant, you can buy alchemists till you get a tier 3 alchemist, then go back close to your base a bit north of there west of the black galleon there are lots of iguana's or some spiders close to there so you harvest their ichor with a pick, then on alchemy table you make your oil much faster and easier, each craft makes 5 oil for each 1 bark 1 ichor, rather than waiting to catch so many fish or tons and tons of seed for a slow processes of pressing oil 1 at a time.

Inventory screen can be set to "heaviest". Makes finding stuff mucho easier. Great vid and great town u have there

On the plant fiber, try putting it in a drying rack, see if it converts to seeds. Use a pickaxe for gathering wood, you'll have more bark than you can use.

I found that oil is easiest done with T4 alchemist from bark and ichor. Awesome base though

If you need more bark, you can use the bark byproduct mod; your carpenters will produce bark as a byproduct of processing wood resources.

Nice village... but a lot of work to obtain oil. Do some rounds at Sinners refuge or The Summoning Place catch a named alchemist put it on alchemist bench will give you oil recipe. Is need ichor and bark then will produce tons of oil. I think alchemist III also gives the recipe. Maybe requires some time to find the alchemist but once you have it is a time saver.

Cool build. You can get seeds from the plant fiber using the drying racks. Just takes awhile.

And I do wish that they had added more waterfalls and staggered waterfalls to the base game. SW has more, but I don't think there's nearly enough for all maps :)

I don't remember if it's the case with vanilla planters as well, but the ones from Emberlight can produce bees that you can use for the fish traps to catch higher quality fish for more oil. Well, there's bees and there's also the fat grubs from the composter.

I kill spiders and harvest with a axe to get ichor. Ichor in to the alchemist's bench with bark and make oil. I like it better than the fish traps and fluid press.

(shamless plug incoming) have a look at my alchemy buff farming video you'll never need to gather insects ever again, its all done passively. plus plenty of buffs to boot. liking your settlement BTW havent built anywhere outside bear island in the north for an age.

you can get an alchemist level 3 put them in alchemy table and you can mass craft oil with bark and ichor

you can make compose bixs and get Grubs and place those in fish traps also when you find grubs in the wild use a Pick to to maximise the quantity.

i was trying to get delinsia from the mound of the dead knew it was going to take long time so threw down dismantling bench and armors bench ( for repairs ) after i left had almost 1k heavy leather atleast 1k starmetal 300 hardened steel. the build is cool but farming gear and breaking it down is faster imo

Why not just put seeds in the press? Or is that not a thing anymore? I haven't play since chapter 2 so idk anything about changes to oil....

Can i come live with you? My base is a windowless cereal box....

ahh another maxed out expertise player with an inventory full of crap. i'm usually walking around at about 400% which prevents me from doing some tasks. my buddy hates me bc i have to get him to do that task for me since he's not over encumbered lol.

If you don't want to run around so much then please put some of the plant fibers that you just threw away in your video in a stable and the other part in a composter Let the animal process the plant fibers into manure Throw the manure into the compost heap and leave it there Then fat caterpillars will form that you can use, for example, to catch fish Up to a quantity of 50 So exactly one stack If you take out the current pile, new ones will form again with the same amount of compost For example, if you have enough compost, you can also use the excess compost. so more than one stack If you want to optimize the whole thing even more Can you take the soil that has become more than a stack And throw some of your soil into a planting trough You then make it with plant fibers And put them in a drying rack afterwards so that you can get more seeds out Because you get back more than twice what you originally invested in seeds Then you can throw some of the seeds into the oil press You should subject the other part to the whole thing again from the beginning Of course, the whole thing only makes sense if you happen to have a lot of bark If you just want to get bark then I would recommend using the pickax to dismantle trees You'll get a little bit less wood than if it were dropped with a regular ax, but you'll get a bunch of bark and other things Then you won't have to worry about bark in the future

This is horrifically inefficient. Use grubs from compost bins instead of harvesting bugs from bushes. Or use both... but max out the fish traps even more. It's far faster to make oil though by using a pick on spiders for ichor, and a pickaxe on trees for bark. Put the ichor and bark in an alchemists bench with a T3/T4 alchemist on station and you get 5x the oil as the ichor you put in. But if you want to do it more role-play style, grubs from compost bins eliminate the need to chase down insects. Then you can dry your excess plant fiber in the drying rack for more seeds (at the cost of bark for dryer fuel) and crush more seeds for oil. Or you can grow seeds for more plant fiber, then dry the fiber for more seeds. Prior to the bark/ichor production method, I've built fish trap farms with 50 or more traps, with a compost bin producing grubs for each trap. Then about 10 presses to process the oil.
