The armor guide is so useful it's a real game changer thank you for doing that, the one thing that's missing in the game is showing the stats of armour pieces before crafting, which I think should be in the game, i know there is a mod that shows the stats on pc but for console players like me this guide will be so useful 👌
Oh my god, the armorer at the tanner table! I started to play in june, during the free trial and then I bought the game. I play single player and this is great to know. Thank you for sharing this!
The fact that the game has been live this long and we still cannot save more than 1 local game, tells you a lot about the development capabilities of Funcom.
if people who want to play this game start watching the series with the guides you made. they wouldn't ask those questions. as i did and i have been playing for only a week and i started watching the series and following the instructions you give and it helped me a lot.Many many thanks.

Great video Angaar! Very informative! I believe that the named darfari are still worth getting as an early to mid game thrall! Although they halved their str weapon modifier they still level up preaty quick, also they have a preaty good health and very high grit. 🤘😎🤘

@5:00 One more in the north side of the island at the bottom right of J6 usually attacking the shalebacks. @8:30 Purple lotus orbs are not that practical for the treasure seekers, since they are neither passive, nor static as the majority of the relic hunters faction thralls in Sepermeru. Also the are agility thralls, which the thrall AI doesn't use particularly well in game. Alternatively, if you want to bridge the gap between the seven river named thralls and cimmerian berserker, it is easier to get the Freya (nordheimer archer) at Freya's Hovel (mid-right of G9), who you can knocked in isolation after clearing her camp or even better, but more challenging since it is very unlikely to knock out alone, go for Lian (nordheimer fighter, covered @13:00) at Lian's Watch (bottom right of G10). Nordheimers have more health relic hunters, begin with 30 strength instead of agility plus 10 stamina and those two are 100% spawns, most important though is that they have 50-100% higher melee modifiers than the relic hunters. Also consider T3 and even better T4/named bearers, they have 0.5 melee modifier, but end up with multiple times the health of the berserkers/Dalinsias and level up faster, should be lucky to get one early game, it will make everything significantly easier and will soak the damage of the mightiest bosses. @14:40 Use the mod Armour and Weapon Stats on Benches to see the stats before crafting. To the question now, if you are lazy the best armour is the perfected heavy you learn as a reward from the expert (last) armourer journey. Another important consideration is that thralls don't benefit from endurance and carry cap, they also don't bestow follower damage (only benefit from the player having it), and finally the health bonus is insignificant for the health relic hunters, nordheimers, cimmerians and votaries end up with. Therefore only look for armours with strength/agility buffs and if you are OCD concussive damage for your thralls.

So a bit of clarification on your level when taking thralls. As you said named noob river ones at lvl 10+ (bring a second trungeon to the fight!) Then I'd level her to 15+ unlock Slaver armor at lvl 20 and equip her with it. Then go kill Seth in Cellar for a better trungeon. Then immediately go to a spot to kill berserker around lvl 30+. lvl 15 named thrall should be able to withstand a few hits of berserker (depends on what perk she did get) while you both hit him with Seth trungeons Also at lvl 34 or 35 we unlock weapon upgrades 2 so we can upgrade Seth trungeons with tier 2 blunt enhancements
dlcs are not only cosmetics as it concerns buildings. specific dlc pieces allow for specific combinations that do give advantages if u know what u r doing
For thra- I mean friends to consider adventuring with, I would like to throw Lianeele into consideration. You get the Entertained buff from her, she has 2500 base HP, 30 vitality and 25 strength. She is quite hard to find and has a moderate damage bonus of 1.6, but taking into consideration the rest of her kit, shes a solid pick imo.
14:07 lol, I have a similar spreadsheet As for preferred sets: If I want to be super tanky and walk in the north and volcano I pick Redeemed legion with master plating which gives just over 1500 armor (75% dmg reduction cap) For everything else medium dragonbone with bulk plating which gives 921 armor and 64% dmg reduction and it has 112 health bonus on top of it. For thralls perfected heavy with bulk plating is best. I got a lvl 20 berserker with right stats with over 1800 armor
I was going through siptah along with your playthrough and dropped it as soon as I found the Savage wilds mod 😂 it's been a blast, got my ass handed to me too many times cuz of discovering difficult areas with higher level mobs. Finding named thralls is a bit easier here, but they're naturally smack in the middle of camps
Depends on the level, but I would start on crocs/shalebacks/rocknoses. Then if they are strong enough, skeletons/wights/undead particularly in the Unnamed City. Another option is the Grey Apes/Gorillas in the jungle also give high XP. Basically stick to creatures as humans give low XP
II created a Nordheimer male with short hair. Played about 4 hours. Made my first thrall. A skulled hyena attacked and killed both myself and my thrall. I reawaken at my bed a Female Dafari with no stats. I stayed the same level but all my attributes and knowledge went back to 0. I love the game but it needs a ton of work to fix all the issues.
For my starter thralls: I start by putting 5 points in vitality and 10 in authority make my way to Sepermeru. Then I search chests there for a better weapon to kill szeth the drunk and take his truncheon. And finally knock out one of relic hunters (fighter) that is in the other room.
I'd use a shield too if it didn't change 1H combo moves. I like an aoe on 4th heavy attack and shield doesn't have that. As for one handers its Mace->Axe->Sword
Can't really make a video on that as the spawns are so random. Best place for a Blacksmith is the north end of Sepermeru as there are 4 guaranteed blacksmith spawn points you can farm until a named one pops up
Sorry but DLCs weapons and armour has stats and can be unlocked sooner than their vanilla counterparts. For example Nemedian light set has a follower and concussion bonus on it and can be unlocked from the moment you unlock armorers bench while next similar vanilla set is Hyrkanian raider and its lvl 30 set which require extra points to unlock and heavy padding to craft.
The most annoying part of this game for me is two handed weapons can't block, I'd rather have the ability to block than a special move. Or at least have damage reduction when blocking with a 2 hander, i just don't see the point of 2 handers, they're a combination of all bad parts of every other weapon
I've just recently started a new playthrough and it looks like they've fixed being able to use a hatchet or pick on branches and single rocks. I've been trying to hit them and nothing happens. I can only pick them up one at a time.
I do really like sword & board with the Short Sword agility build, but there is a lack of 1-handed legendary agility weapons 😕 Much more Strength weapons available
Hi Angaar, I follow you for a very long time on youtube. Can you or anyone else clarify to me how do we get aesir fortifications build set and armor? I can read on wiki that it should be a black lotus bazaar DLC, but I cannot find it in the steam list. Thanks!
So the Black Lotus Bazaar is the in-game shop, so they can't be obtained through Steam. The Bazaar sells smaller sets of items instead of the older DLC that was a full set of building pieces, armours, weapons, etc. The items in the Bazaar also rotate in and out of the shop, so sadly as of right now neither the building set nor armour are currently available. Just keep an eye on the store for those to return aging.
Janos was the first good named thrall that I found. He gets the job done. The backbone of my little army is the Cim berserker. I haven't tried the new purge yet I'm going to level some more berserkers before I do m. Do you know if the developers have updated the game yet? I've been waiting till they fix the bugs before I declare my wealth.
If you build a purge base, you don't really have to worry about it destroying your base. And you can start small and work your way up. I have only done a lvl two purge. Do play single-player or online sever?

You did not mention the Cannibal Brute with its great damage mod... I thought that was the new Meta? Is there a reason you did not include him in the Best Thrall List?
The Cannibal Bute and other named Darfari’s like Thugra have had their damage modifiers halved in AoW Ch.3. This is more balanced now as no noob river thrall, that you could get at lvl 10, should be the “friend” that takes you through the whole game
