amazing how in the span of 30 seconds ralph macchio goes from being jordan's lifelong hero to a b-list celebrity that's too inept to correctly pronounce his own name
This video doesn't feel like it's scripted because you can feel the tension in this video... I think Joran wants to appreciate that opportunity as much as possible and wants Conan to appreciate it just as much as him, but Jordan doesn't understand that not everyone thinks the way he does or people appreciating different things on different levels.
There's no reason to script it and every reason not to. Scripting costs time and money, no scripting means it's spontaneous and will have a better result. Spontaneity doesn't always produce the best result but when your ingredients are Conan and Jordan, it's guaranteed ... and they have a lot of footage to whittle down to gold, not that the unedited version isn't worth a watch in its entirety. They're the perfect combination ... mix Conan with a lot of other people and you have a pretty good combination, too.
This duo always improvised instead of scripted bit. They were aware that everything they said is for comedy material once the camera rolled. That’s why Conan had to clarify himself when he accidentally misused the word. (I know it’s been three years but I’m still commenting anyway)
I want this to be premiered at the Venice film festival and the Oscars.....Also this should go down into the movies having historical and cultural importance...
"we are men, we should straddle, submit, and hold it in our mouth." and "when he opens up his assignment and it says: you're a urinal cake in a bus station in Osaka." had me dying!
I'm beginning to think that Jordan is actually like that in real life, not just for Conan's bits. And after an hour of listening to Jordan I think I need therapy....
@D_ans Jordan is obviously doing improv. Why would he be ok with everyone making fun of him on camera, with an audience of millions? besides there are clips of him where he doesn't know that he's on camera, and once he does, he immediately starts acting like this.
@@Blorgus. his skit self is probably an exaggerated version of his actual self. He’s got the basics of his character from the getgo and once they realized he’s popular with the audience he began to invent this exaggerated version of himself for these skits
@@rhetiq9989 i think so too. But i cannot believe that Jordan is like that all the time. how mean would that be if Conan just wanted him on the show because he's just a ridiculous human being.
yeah after I uploaded it I saw someone had already done it but I too could not see it... so I left it as an alternative. it was taken from Coco's Facebook page.
I think Jordan is the kryptonite for Conan. I realy think if it wasn't people around he would admit more things that Jordan said. I think they in some way can understand and learn from each other a lot but we do not see it on the camera. What I'm saying is that when they have issues with each other on the camera (it is visible here) they can't resolve these issues without breaking the character. So I beleive behind camera they can resolve issues and get along pretty well.
This is all straight improve with a mix of authentic friendship. This is what 20 years of experience working together gets you. The kK2 bit was improved/staged. It’s so obvious it scares me how many people can’t see it.
The interesting thing to me is that I don't think Conan's argument makes sense, and I think Jordan actually had a good point. It's entirely possible for Jordan to appreciate Japan from the Karate Kid 2, even if it wasn't filmed there. Maybe he appreciated their portrayal of Japanese culture, or the costumes, or the language, any other number of things. The point is, even if the film wasn't shot in Okinawa, it gave the illusion that it was, and if that meant something to Jordan then that's good enough. Jordan's statement that he also doesn't care about the stock of film or can't name the 2nd gaffer is totally fair. But it really does seem like Jordan lost his cool and started flailing around- he calls Conan fat and starts insulting Ralph Macchio, and it definitely seems like Conan gets under his skin. I really think Jordan could have kept his cool if he stuck to his original line of reasoning, so it's hilarious how he he becomes completely pissed off.
Tragedy is this entire thing could be released because it's so good, but they were right to cut it down. Jordan seemed to be caught up in his mood and was definitely, excessively rude to Conan for no reason. Conan plays it off with everyone but he's actually a great boss
And I thought he was being rude not honoring Jordan with the tea... OK lets be rational here, Jordan felt humiliated and I partly blame Conan even though he did it for comedic purposes. I think Jordan was emotional and didn't mean all those words he said about Machio. You can just about see how kind and respectful Conan is. If u go back at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="68">1:08</a>:36 until the end you clearly see a different Conan, he covered his mouth out of respect for the actor being called sometype celebrity. I love how we can experience the whole view of problems that we think these people dont have. Lets not hate on Jordan, he snapped for a bit, like ALL humans do.👍🏻
Ah, I see your error in logic. You seem to be under the impression that Jordan is a human. That simply isn't true. Jordan is something known as, how you say, a douchebag.
Also, getting Jordan to snap was the whole point of the Macchio bit. Jordan is playing this up further, but he had a bit too little material to come back at Conan for so he scrambled and went for smaller details like the selfcomforting behaviours of Conan or the color of his phone. We should remember he hasn´t got the years and years of on camera experience Conan has, making him less adept (which is the whole charm of Jordan of course)
Absolutely cathartic when Conan showed the video after having been insulted, fat-shamed, (unprofessionally) diagnosed, etc., by Jordan for the past hour
Names are pronounced depending on the region they are from. So in fact you could be pronouncing your own last name wrong. I believe that is the case here.
The "woobie" thing is just so weird and creepy. It's like Jordan planned out all of this pseudo-psychology babble, thinking he was gonna really take Conan down. What's even weirder about it is that Conan is openly laughing at his attacks, but Jordan still seems to think he's really gotten under his skin lol
@@n.t3026 No clue, it sounds like something you'd find on a pick up artist forum. I'm guessing he's saying Conan is playing with his belly like he's a baby comforting himself. Idk dude it's weird
While this isn't "Scripted" per se, Conan doesn't actually hate Jordan. Jordan is in on the joke and plays up the narcissist character for these bits. Conan is also actually a really sweet guy in real life.
Jordan is so lucky to be working for Conan O’brien. Conan makes him the star he has become, and makes all the bits they do together work, not the other way around. If he acted this way to any other boss on a regular basis (or maybe even once), I’m not sure Jordan even has his job today.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="509">8:29</a> lol when conan asked jordan how to say "im sorry" and after jordan acted like an expert of their language, culture and respect for so long, he told conan to just say "im sorry" very slowly. im 30 minutes in and jordan is just bsing half the time. <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="2386">39:46</a> conan breaks jordan again. impressive considering how aggressive jordan is here it's hard for conan to get any jokes flowing. <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="2625">43:45</a> now jordan talks about counting calories being most important. he's a hypocrite lol. by the end jordan looked like he snapped even tho he said he was at peace but then he admitted it. god for an obvious prepared joke to snap him, he's lost all credibility of his claim that he is always at peace, comfortable, etc. he's probably pulling bs half the time and the other half is supplemented by his encyclopedia. i feel like both of them were attacked here although they came in intending to shoot this concept, jordan took things to the next level when he seemed to shut off conan's jokes constantly and try to call conan mentally insecure, ill, etc. then jordan himself snapped when conan was still obviously just still trying to sneak jokes in.
@@nateg4008 Lol....It’s not scripted, but it’s clearly played up. Both men know what they’re doing, or do you think Harrison Ford really threw Jordan’s lego millenium falcon to the floor?
No it's not scripted, or just barely and yes Jordan was really mad, proof on this vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UHnCgMOdxX0.html at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="700">11:40</a>, it's no big deal, shit happens. They are still somewhat friends today. And no Jordan isn't playing a character, he is really like that. My opinion is both of them went too far trying to humiliate the other.
Bro, Conan literally confirmed that Jordan is playing a character years ago. You gotta be pretty dumb not to know that. Especially with the numerous times that he's broken character.
People who complain about the way Conan talks to Jordan here probably never had such a friend who you could make fun of and the one who could make fun of you to the point where both of you almost start fighting but the next day forget the whole thing and become best friends again. What you see right here is pure love and friendship!
