"Just because I got lucky" You might think he's just being modest, but he's 100% right. Yes he's very talented and the funniest show host on television, but there are millions of Conans out there who just aren't on television.

He's really humble it seems and he doesn't want his children to have an inflated sense of self. It's really easy to encourage children to think too highly of themselves, everything is new, exciting, emotive, and they crave independence.. it's just their nature to feel like they're on top of the world when they do anything exciting, and for free? I wanted to be a a singer too at 10. If my dad spoiled me with free vip tickets to see Gwen Stefani and I played with her children, I may not have discovered my real natural abilities and skills in professional art and psychology. Way to go Conan. Don't let the world's obsession with hollywood stardom raise your children. Hollywood is an extremely cold, competitive, unforgiving, unempathetic industry.

Yet another uptick in my respect for Conan O'Brien.

He sounds really grounded especially for someone in showbiz. But I guess it's usually the actors that live in an unreal world.

If I was Conan's son I would dress up like Conan and brag about having such a cool dad.

He also makes a great point that not everything is positive and happy at all times. It just isn't realistic, because success whether in family, career, or relationships is not founded upon good times , it's really only achieved through consistent hard work, pain, sacrifice, and it's not pleasant all the time to get there. You may also not end up where you want to be, but you could end up where your skills are highly valued and sometimes we need to revaluate what our priorities truly are.

Think for someone who’s famous he’s giving his kids a average life which I respect, Conan grew up and worked hard to become what he is now so at least his kids will work hard and teach there dreams too! Plus they might have better luck since there dad has connections, which is awesome!!!

Famous people’s kids are judged all the time. People think the only reason they get to where they are is because of their famous parents. Even if the kid works hard and studies hard, people will always assume it was handed to them. Try living in that shadow. Can’t be easy.

He seems biased in the way he talks about his kids. His son is a little Steve Jobs and super smart, but his daughter is just a typical girl who wants to be a singer? Why the disdain for her dream and not the son's?

As much as I usually enjoy Conan- I just couldn't hold out 100% on my own kids (if I was him and had kids,) at LEAST SOME special privileges that stars would offer! I can figure he really does not want spoiled kids, I wouldn't want any of that either. I'm certain he's erroring on the side of the least bit of the opposite though.
