Arnold never got enough credit. You look at Conan's face in this fight and how it goes from injured bewilderment to raging glory. For the _Terminator_ he was initially offered the role of the Savior - but he said - no - it would be better if he played the Terminator. He always was a highly intelligent person. .

The story of how Arnold got the role of Conan is BONKERS. He basically insulted DeLaurentis; calling him a tiny man. Arnold claimed that he was Conan embodied and that no one else can play the role but him. DeLaurentis hated him at first. Then, after tempers cooled, he realized that Arnold’s behavior was precisely how Conan would behave when auditioning for a part. And with that, a star was born.

Poorly shot? Probably because it was filmed 40 years ago. The fight scenes are realistic enough, throw 2 dudes in a pit it's gonna be chaos, not an choreographed MMA style fight.

You don't understand,@@GizmoMaltese. Conan was born free. He was raised free and lived free. He wasn't some human ox who was educated and trained by his captors. The whole concept of Conan is opposed to ever being chained. This was just a lazy way to introduce a fully grown Conan without much of a backstory.
