@@billseaman5974 I have been carrying since 21, will be 44 in 2 weeks. I have always carried owb strong side. That shooting with weak hand is great advice and I need to practice a lot more that way. I was watching a bodycam video and a young officer was shot in his right hand. He couldn't get his weapon out. Luckily he had another officer there to protect him. He finally got his gun to his left hand after another officer got there and drew it for him.

@@travismcgreat3823 I'm currently using a Safariland 7053. It's inexpensive, packs easily and I can usually go a shift without that cord annoying my armpit. That said, I would really like a nicer rig that supports magazines such as the one seen in this video. I had my eye set on a DeSantis New York Undercover. If you have some recommendations on a nice rig, I'm all ears. If it's going to run me a few hundred bucks I certainly want something for the long haul that is comfortable and functional. I carry appendix on my bike. It’s what I’m used to, and it doesn’t usually get in the way, even with the aggressive riding position demanded of my cbr. There’s just something about my gun flopping around under my jacket and covering everyone that is behind me that makes me uneasy. It’s definitely the coolest looking, though.

@mcmneverreadsreplys7318

Always thought if I got a bike again I'd get a dedicated revolver with an attached lanyard, and strap it to my left leg (possibly inside / Calvary draw). (Don't think I'd trust a lanyard attached to the mag of a simi-A.) I'd still be carrying my dbl stack Simi-A but since that's a right side draw and that hand is locked to the throttle it's practically useless while the bike is moving. Placing a quick access gun on my left makes the most sense. It would have to be large caliber since it would likely be used as instant defense response against attackers in a moving vehicle until I could stop and bring my primary into action; if still necessary. Obviously practice with this 'dedicated bike-gun' would primarily focus on single left hand shooting (both to left and right), at relatively large moving targets. And never forget, running away is always the preferred 1st action; if it can be done safely.

I either strong side or cross draw. Back when I was on duty we worked a lot of semi plain clothes. I had a break away holster I wore cross draw with the opening to my front. 1- it rode great between the seat and the door. 2- if I approached someone, I could have it out easy so it was on my lap. 3-no body could get my gun from the rear 4- I could draw much quicker, muzzle was down till I brought it up and I could stand thin. 5- I could stand cross armed with my hand on the grip without looking like I was in a an aggressive stance with my arm back and hand on my gun Some people will argue, but it worked for me

My PPS40 is perfect appendix carry for me. People worry about returning weapon to holster; easy. Thumb on back of slide will feel the trigger warning pin protruding if trigger is being pulled or is snagged. If you are pushing pistol in by that point and you feel the pin, you stop pushing, simple enough. With a good holster will never happen as long as you use good technique to lift the shirt with the other hand..

I apendix carry. Out side of shoulder carry and some forms of OWB carry you are going to flag yourself. Like he said in the video trigger discipline is key. Reason for appendix carry is I do not like putting a gun back into a holster if I cannot see all the way down into the holster before putting my gun away.

I carry AIWB with a shield plus and a concealment express appendix holster, with a dr scholls shoe insert velcroed to the bottom of it, to push it out and keep it from rubbing my thigh. It’s extremely comfortable for me, as I’m not very large, and works well when riding my bike, even with the super aggressive riding position a new sport bike demands. I know there’s a lot of controversy about what it’s aimed at, but honestly all carry positions are going to aim at something you don’t want to shoot, except maybe the three o clock position, if it’s not inside the waistband, and that makes it really hard to conceal, if it’s not cold outside. I think people forget sometimes that no matter where you carry, at some point you’re going to have a weapon that could cause massive amounts of harm pointed at you. Limit the amount you have to handle it, always follow a set of strict safety protocols, and practice, practice, practice.
@zues287

Appendix carry is pointed at much more vital organs. It's not only pointed at your junk, it's also pointed in the direction of your femoral artery. If for example you kidney carry, you can "afford" to loose a bit of flesh/fat from your ass if the worst case scenario happens. If you're appendix carrying and you shoot your junk or your femoral artery, there's a pretty good chance of bleeding out before help arrives. I'm not trying to tell you how to carry, as that's entirely your choice. Just throwing that information out there for those new to carrying.
@thagingerninjer5391
@thagingerninjer5391 Год назад
@@zues287 I’ve been carrying all of my adult life. There isn’t a single time when I’m carrying aiwb that my gun is pointed at my junk or my femoral artery. Not sitting. Not standing. Not on my bike. However, if I’m carry at four or six, then every, single time I take a step the muzzle of my gun shines my femoral artery. The ONLY safer way to carry concealed would be at three or a bag, and neither of those make sense. I can’t conceal a gun that’s a three o clock, and carrying with it off your person is pointless. Aiwb is the safest option from a concealment standpoint as well as an ease of drawing/defending someone from taking it perspective, for me. Anytime you carry, your gun is, at some point, gong to be pointed in a compromising direction. If it was completely safe to do so, it would be pointless to carry. All you can do is make what you’re doing s safe as possible, and use your head to make up for the rest of it.
@zues287
@zues287 Год назад
@@thagingerninjer5391 it's extremely rare for a gun to go off while it's holstered. A gun goes off while in the process of holstering/unholstering due to human error. Either something catches the trigger while holstering or the trigger finger isn't properly extended. Either way way, human error happens no matter how careful we are. When holstering AIWB, the muzzle IS pointed at those vital organs at some point during the motions. I used to think AIWB was fine until I watched a video where Massad Ayoob explained why he refuses to appendix carry, and it makes sense. Also, the vast majority of fatal holstering accidents happen from AIWB carrying. Statistics don't lie.

Dangerous way to carry if you are engaged in a physical confrontation or a fight for the weapon. Appendix has one huge issue for me. You must have a short handgun for it to work. Shortest I'm willing to go is G19 and that sucks in appendix for me. It conceals poorly and is super uncomfortable. I understand with the 43x or 26 it could work, but those guns have too short a slide for my taste. With strong side I can just barely conceal a 9-inch gun and with a shoulder holster I can conceal a hand cannon. But it was cool feeling to pull it off for a few days to try it out.

What type of Apex holster were you running? There are an insane amount to choose from. I've run a TRex Arms AIWB for 3yrs now. Glock 19 and a sidecar mag carrier. I would not consider a G17 or a G34 as a carry pistol in any situation, unlessyour 6'5" and 275lbs . If you dedicated the proper time with a G19 vs a G17 the difference in accuracy is 90% you. I got the Galco Alaskan shoulder system for my 1911 and love it, yes it is hard to conceal but for carry in a vehicle it is perfect. The firearm is on the chest and can be rotated down to the left as well for very comfortable carry. Looking forward to the Expo in November!!!!

I've had numerous back surgeries. The only thing comfortable for me is OWB for my 19 or shoulder holster for my kimber dasa .357. IWB is absolutely miserable for me.

As with you, with LE training I have found the duty belt training, makes it more comfortable in the 3 to 4 o'clock position. My concealed carry gun is a early 1960's Colt Cobra, with an old fashion "Hip Grip". It is comfortable and with a little pressure against the belt, it is very secure.

As a large....fat guy, I carry mine in the 2:00 position. There is a location between my belly fat and my hip fat. The gun sits in the fat valley making it print. Plus I can get to it easier. This is for IWB. If I'm carrying OWB, then I'll go with the 3:00 position.

I think S&W oughta partner with some undershirt company for their M&P 2.0. I can walk around all day with it- zero issues. But as a pro driver, it gets sand-papery anywhere you put it after not too long.

yea in the beginning, thats what i thought, ha pointing in the wrong area. but as long as you have ((trigger finger DISCIPLINE)).you dont have anything to worry about..im a small guy, it seems to be hard to carry OWB.just seems to stick out, or maybe i just think it is..

Appendix and paddle holsters can be easily pulled away from a CCW person, including speed clips on the waist band holster (OWB). Closed belt loops are more secured.

Saw this one video that was posted recently where an armed robber was talking people's money and made two of the guys lift up the front of their shirts checking for a gun. Luckily one guy was carrying at the 4 o'clock position and was able to get the jump on the robber.

Carried the g3 model every day for about a year now and I can tell you that you won’t regret it as long as you get one of the smaller sizes. It should be common sense that you can’t conceal a full-size comfortably but I’ve seen a lot of complaints about it.

I have the Urban Carry appendix holster for my S&W M&P BodyGuard with. 38 Special +P rounds. Yes, it's a hammerrless revolver, but carries quite comfortably. I got the English Bridal leather and that makes it a little more comfortable. I can draw while sitting or lying down

Appendix iwb for me I'm 6'2 140lbs and pretty hard to carry on the side or anywhere besides my front without printing unless it's winter and I can wear a heavy or thicker zip up hoodie/coat. During the winter I can strong side carry with my 1911 .45 without printing. I can also some how Appendix carry the 1911 until I sit down but with the right movement I can sit comfortably on the first go without crushing one of my boys down stairs. My edc is a Springfield xds 2 3.3 sitting pretty with out smooshing or crunching things down there. Sucks to cc being tall and thin and I also clip onto my pants or shirts behind the instead onto the belt so I can get a closer hold and get rid of the imprint at least 95% or better unless I stretch my arms back. I've practiced plenty of rounds at the range drawing from there and also at home using squid rounds just to get that muscle memory from walking/ standing and sitting. Just in case if someone kicked in my door if my dogs some how didn't hear or feel someone coming up to the house. My furry 4 legged babies do get annoying time to time with the barking when I know I have friends coming over but it's also backed people off my door or yard when they approach "sales people" which I never trust them and or the local church people trying to recruit people to join them. I've heard plenty of stories of those ADT or any security alarm or bug spray or whatever sales person who wants or need to enter for an assessment or whatever BS. My first thought they want to see what toys I have and layout in the house or any security I have. Be safe everyone and always practice practice practice and practice some more.

Dumb question. But once I have my concealed carry permit, it lets me carry throughout the state, correct? I don’t need a separate permit unless I move from one county to the other?
@TexasNativee

For your state yes, but if you’re talking through another state look online what there laws are. If they have constitutional carry you can conceal carry in those states. Just gotta look up because everywhere is different.

Depending on your state, you may want to look closely at city ordinances. For example, I have at least a couple of Denver PD connections and one of them shared with us that the City and County of Denver has an ordinance against concealed carry in public. It can be properly stored in your car. Hopefully Bruen will knock down that particular dominoe soon.

Hellcat w/15rd mag , Vedder Holster and a Kore Belt. Worn at about 3:15-3:30. So comfy I can lay on that side and take a nap. I’d love to go appendix, but the ‘ol tactical shelf is in the way. 😉 Driving. It gets stuck against a USCCA leather wrapped magnet (check their online store) that’s screwed to my center console, that rests about my right knee.
