Concert Held in Kenya to Commemorate those Killed in Tax Hike Protests
Kenyan activists organised a memorial concert on Sunday to honour those who lost their lives in recent anti-government protests. The unrest, which resulted in the deaths of at least 39 people amid clashes with police, escalated after demonstrators briefly stormed parliament, prompting police intervention. President William Ruto responded to the initial cause of the protests by rescinding tax hikes.
