Concorde Flight 6/23/03 London to New York - Exactly four months before last Concorde flight! Customer POV! Comments are now moderated. English only and proper punctuation & capitalization, please. My video of last commercial flight of Concorde 10/23/03: • Concorde Last London t...
I saw Concorde at EAA Oshkosh in July 1988 and knew I just had to fly on it. When the accident occurred in 2000, I thought I'd never have a chance. But Concorde made it back into the air and I was able to take two flights before it was retired.
There are a few errors in the narration. For instance, afterburners are on for entire take-off and climb-out.
I sure was fond of the cute Aussie in the pink top with the pony tail :-) One-way ticket cost about $4000. BA was offering discount packages for some of the final flights.
Shot with a Sony DSR-PDX10 which I purchased at B&H Photo a few hours before departing JFK. I had a very hard time getting batteries charged in time for the trip.

This is incredible to watch! Aside from the fact that you could cross the pond in 3 hours 30 minutes, it seems more than than just a flight. The passengers and crew seemed happy to be apart of a human feat. People were taking pictures, the pilot greeted the passengers in flight. Wow this is incredible. I wish I could've taken a ride in the Concorde!

Thank goodness he took this great video. In a strange way, the time before smartphone cameras feels like a lost world. Because there's so much less video of everything. If Concorde had lasted until 2019, there would have been 25 RU-vid/IG/TT/whatever videos of people on the last flight.

I don't know if it is me, but I find it outstanding that this was recorded only 1.5 years after 911 yet the quality of the recording feels like something recorded in 2010, it only took less than two years from passing the 90's aesthetic in home video cameras to a quality similar to the ones we have today!!!

Back in these days the camcorders were quite bulky compared to a modern smartphone, with fairly limited battery and storage (tapes). You generally saved them for special occasions. Taking a camcorder out in public for general day-to-day 'blogging' wasn't really the done thing; people around you would be self-conscious and you'd have kids running up trying to get into the shot.

what a really awesome video. I never flew on her but I got to see her take off from Pearson Airport in Toronto, Ontario a couple of times. I could not believe how loud she was on takeoff. I used to sit in the old McDonald Douglas parking lot which was right beside runway 24 right I believe. Where I would park was only about maybe 200 feet from the start of the runway so very close. I had a small plastic elephant hanging from my rear view mirror that a friend gave me. The sound on takeoff was so loud that even with the windows rolled up the string would vibrate back and forth but there would be people including parents holding small children standing at the fence watching her takeoff and no hearing protection for the little ones ears.

As that salmon was being consumed, the aircraft was nearing the velocity of a .30 caliber bullet fired from an M1 Carbine......1,300mph....1,906fps.....21.6 miles every minute. I don't see how those things held together travelling that fast for that length of time. Even a fighter jet like an F-15 can only reach past Mach 2 for limited periods. The Concorde could maintain that speed for a couple hours.
