My father Frank Robson went on the sales tour - and has amazing "cine film" footage from the air and ground of this tour.

according to wiki, only 20 were ever built, of which 6 were prototypes, so only 14 went into service. a creative & technical triumph, but a a commercial failure.

In my opinion it never really failed. It was an unfortunate set of events such as the crash of the Air France Concorde which resulted in all Concorde's being grounded for safety checks. Then when they returned to service it was only a couple of months after 9/11 so people were avoiding flying. Not to mention a lot of regular flyers were going to the World Trade Center. In the end it was a case of Concorde wasn't making enough money and fuel prices going up. Both British Airways and Air France decided to take the easy way out and retire Concorde. When they could've just grounded the Fleet again until they were confident it would make a profit or find another way round it. In the end it was all about money. Concorde was robbed of many years left of flying and I dare say would still be flying today.

12:40 William Rodgers MP - Gang of Four - compare his intelligent discourse with that of BoJo today (ignoring the subject matter). Something, possibly lead in fuel or nuclear tests, has perhaps caused brain damage between then and now. I've dipped in to sky news on youtube in the last week (Feb 2020) and the desperately mis-spelt typos and slurring of speech is frightening.

I wonder how today's Brits would feel about spending 18.4 billion pounds (todays money) on an amusement ride for the rich.
