Concrete Core Test | Concrete Core Cutting | Concrete Core Capping | Concrete Core Test Machine :
In Concrete core test concrete cores are usually cut using the rotary cutting tool with diamond bits known as concrete core test machine. The cores are visually inspected for giving specific attention towards compaction of concrete that means air void visualisation, distribution of aggregate and presence of steel, etc.
The concrete core should then be soaked in water, capped with molten sulphur to make its ends plane, parallel and at the right angle. It is then tested in compression testing machine in a moist condition.

Good video but too many safety violations. No fall restraint, no safety glasses, I also think they should have been wearing cut-resistant gloves. Improper electrical connection to power supply notice he inserts wires from the drill into a socket. The drill should have had a proper plug.

For capping of core material use sulfar or other capping material ,not required capping tool ? please suggest , we use blue colour plastic instead of vertical capping tool , can we use bar ldetector

What will happen to main structure from where the core was extracted, it will have cut reinforcemnt too. So longitudal reinforcement cut at that location. which will damge the life of structure and reduce the strength........ so core cutting is damaging

You are right. But care is required to take that the core has been taken from the place where main bars are not cut. Also if possible no bar will be distracted.

hello Dr. Chirag, how much of trimming of the core length which has been brought from the site is allowed to prepare a core for test. Eg if i bought a core of 230mm length, can i trim it to 100mm while making core specimen for crushing.

Requirements of Concrete Core Height is 2 times its Dia. atleast.

I think you talk about water supply provided while cutting the core. It is required to reduce the heating between concrete and drill bit. Water will lubricate the friction surface properly which make ease for the cutting without failure of drill bit.
