***** practically there is no such type of loading in the real environment. for example if you take compression and flexural strength testing for concrete, you can find the type of loading in the actual structure. so that you can use the result for decision purpose. to me the test is neither tension nor compression. to assume it is tension test the whole part(body) of the concrete should be in tension force. as you see here the force is applied in a line wise.
can someone tell me the practical use of this test and significance in real world? how do this differ from pure tension? please answer. need for research. thank you!
