As much as it stinks, walking in mud and slippery rocks and dripping trees, Im glad the weather has warmed up a bit, and you and Leo aren't having to worry about hypothermia. It's too bad you haven't seen any bear yet. My uncle lives in Tavares Fl and bear come to his yard. He also has a 2nd home in Northern Wisconsin, and they cut through his property. Have you ever seen a bear in Florida? I keep scanning the woods during your videos, off to the side of you, looking for bear. There's lots of big dark logs or something that catch my eye, but dont think its a bear. Lol Thats awesome you were able to find someone to split a room with. Everytime you say you just have to go through it, the water on the trail, it reminds me of the kids song, The Bear Hunt Song. Lol Way to go guys on that rock climb. Good boy Leo❤ Thanks for bringing us along. Yay for crossing into New York.🎉 ✌️🫶

Mike, Shawn here in NY. If you need anything through NY and CT, I am less than an hour to all of that trail. I’ve been doing my training in CT for as hopefully 2026 attempt. There are plenty of bear in CT. I know this video is about 5 days old, but you have support here if you need it.

Yeah I always tell people not to take New York for granite. A little tougher than you might think. I’ve seen plenty of bears in that area!!

I didn’t see my first bear until NY. One other bear in NH. I got caught in the 1000 year flood last year right after I crossed the NJ/NY line. Rained so hard, I fell 3 times on the rock scrambles and chipped a bone in my elbow. My worst day on the trail. Glad it was better when you and Leo went through.

He is hyper allergenic so nothing sticks to him at home is groomed monthly. Out here he gets a bath when I can

Well sorry NJ failed you on your quest to see a bear. The bottom of Stairway and from Barret Rd to Iron MTN Rd are usually full of them. But when you finish the AT, if you are still unsuccessful you are welcome back. I can take you hiking or mountain biking in other parts of Wawayanda that are pretty active. All that water is pretty normal after a rain in that area, it can be a full on creek at times. By the way that limbo move was impressive considering you had a pack on.

@@ISuckatHiking there are some areas they tend to hang out because food is easy to come by and they have a place to hide.
