Concrete Overlay (microtopping) process step by step (prep, overlay install, dye, sealer) 

I didn't sand the surface but you certainly can. I had practiced my trowel technique and was happy with the very minor trowel marks. But Duuramen does recommend sanding between the 1st and 2nd coat of microtopping if you want a more smooth and polished appearance. It works well either way.

I used Duraamen's Pellucid Dye for this project. First a light application Medium Grey, followed by a lighter application of Light Grey.

Yes, you could apply acid stain on top of the Skraffino overlay. The stain would of course need to be applied before any sealers.

@@hanscustomshopThanks for the good Informatiom.Very nice clean look.Are the floors really smooth and flat after the overlay.Does it self level a tad bit?You seemed to skim it pretty easily and wondering if it looks a little wavy here and there,creating that kind of natural stone look.Ive done shower walls with skraffino and my floating left some choppy marks but that was the desired look.

@@homepro3743 Thanks for your comment. The floors are not perfectly smooth. No matter how well you trowel there will be some texture. If you have the tools, you could sand the surface after the Skraffino is applied, and before the dye and sealers are applied. That is a common practice with this product, but not a step I took. We like the texture that we ended up with.
