Part 2 of the concrete pour at the Demolition Ranch Headquarters build.
Erik forgot to inform the guys about overhead door and they had to fix it, but concrete was setting up fast. There is no option to patch because concrete had dye in it and it's almost impossible to match later. Enjoy.

@@tonynagy2042 only problem with oiling forms is if you're going to put a fishing coat on the slab afterward. Can cause the finish coat to flake off. Otherwise, oiling forms works great.

Watching videos like this, after my Dad and I built their house from the ground up (save drywall, he had that done) it's impressive how fast those guys are. They did a slab that was much harder than pier and beam in a day and it took us a weekend just to put in the rebar for their pier.

As Ibiana explained, the CVT clutch on the trowel machine works like an automatic transmission in your car. It has low end torque and high end speed. It changes gears as needed. CVT stands for “Continuous Variable Transmission”. Day 1 is a finishing aid, helps slow down drying process of concrete so it doesn’t crack. Also helps with abrasion resistance. Machine blades smooth out the concrete.

Texas barndominium, I've been pouring and finishing concrete for almost 30 years now, and in my opinion, you guys do outstanding work. I believe you do have the flatwork mastered. I was always more of a column, footer, wall, layout guy. Here lately the past 10 years, been doing a lot more flat work because it's really good money. Love the videos and learning new techniques from you guys. Keep up the great work!

I know you made it as I saw Demo's video.. I did concrete work in my younger years, we had to stay on a house slab all day and night with a machine as the concrete was freezing, that sucked.. We were pouring tract home slabs in the High Desert of California. 35 years ago. Time flies when you are having fun... That's hard work. God Bless You and Your LOVED ONES GODSPEED

THIS is the work My Father did for a living concrete finisher and Form setting foundation for house's aka concrete carpenter he worked forty three years in this field of work lead man , foreman, for many union and nonunion company's. He was a good man and he was born right here in El Monte California right in a house on Medina Court 1935. He passed away in 2019 December. his nickname was CHINO ..........

I would have thought that once it is dry enough to stand on your are pretty much done being able to work with it. How long are you able to continue working with it once you are able to stand on it and not leave foot prints?

Until no foot prints are left behind. Depends on mix, on temperature, wind, humidity, etc. Anywhere from 1 hour to 16 hours.
