Lmao, I would ride off the cliff too, a pump is way more efficient if you're running a business. More expensive up front but you'll need less guys to run back and forth on the buggy & faster to just pump.
I thoroughly enjoy watching the other trades get busy. You are truly the best at what you do and you drop real knowledge for the up and comers. Keep the videos coming and I'll always drop a like for you bro.
Really appreciate all the information in guidance you put out on these RU-vid videos. I work for a large construction company that mostly does highway I do underground pipe And build concrete structures like catch basins. I have use a lot of the tricks you post on your videos for V ditches I have done on very steep slopes. These videos are really helping me & I am sure others. Please keep up the good work
Love the videos Anthony. I run a mixer truck for a large concrete company in Edmonton, Alberta. We do mostly chute pours and go to boom pumps. Your videos remind me of when I worked for a mudjacking/shotcrete company running line pumps and a peterbilt booster truck. Keep up the good work👍👍
You are the only guy I’ve seen that makes this look so easy and relaxed and simple.. I’ve been pumping for 6 years here in the IE and LA county area. Cheers💪👍 be safe out there.
Anthony really liked all the knowledge that u hav grown to know all that u hav come to know awesome work !!!! Really enjoyed everything u had to say n pass on to other people that don’t know as much u n can learn from ur experiences that I hav gone threw bro 👍 !!!! Keep up the awesome work bro !!!! U r the Best In The West bro !!!!! Enjoy ur video’s bigtime 👍👍👍👍
Anthony, I dig your videos! You and MIke Day. I guess im a weirdo cuz I watch concrete videos for fun. Im a builder, have done plenty foundations and flatwork but mostly carpentry, framing. I moved from Nor-cal to Idaho almost a year ago and them "Georgia Buggies" are everywhere in the Boise area. Im dancing with the idea of getting into concrete work cuz you make it look so damn easy!! lol. We pumped everything in Norcal and i think if I go forward with this pipe dream ill definately get a pump. Thanks for the education brother!
That's a good game plan. If you start doing concrete and get a pump up there. You will kill it💯 weird they use Georgia buggy's up there. Pumps are all over Utah. Good luck on your endeavors bro👊
If i'm using regular 3/4 inch aggregate would that create a lot of clogs in the 2 inch hose? I read somewhere that the hose should be 3x the size of the aggregate. I run a putzmeister combination mixer and pump doing small jobs. Can I run a 3 inch pump without a reducer for foundation work? at least 50 ft away?
What size of aggregate are you running in that mix? Are you limited by the hose size or the pump size? Is that pump pretty sensitive to the mix design? Thanks!
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete Thank you. I watch your videos, i appreciate you taking the time and make these videos. I watch them and learn from them. I got my concrete license almost 3 years ago and I'm slowly growing. Keep up the good work with the videos brother.
What's up! My father-in-law just picked up a Olin 535 pump not too long ago and I've been helping on the last couple jobs. How much do you adjust your nitrogen bottle per number of hoses or is it always set to 100? When you're doing your clean out, are you cutting off your hoses and leaving just the first hose or running the water through all of your hoses and back into the cement truck?
It all depends on the distance and slump. If the line is surging put more air on it you can hear the piston knocking in the surge tank bleed some air off.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete Ok, that makes sense. When you are cleaning-out with 100-200 ft of hose put out like at this job you did, do you cut the lines and clean separately or pump the water through all of the hoses leaving them still clamped together?
Doesn't matter about the videos, go spend time with your kids. They grow up so quickly. Don't be in 10 years time regretting what you didn't do. However, another great job done though.
Smooth operator running the pump👍 Is it better to have expansion material between side of the house and concrete walkway? concrete placed against stucco siding looks questionable?
West Coast Custom Concrete i can tell! Pump would be good for a few jobs we just poured one this morning had to bucket the whole thing with a bobcat hahah
The amount of time and labor you save has to be mind blowing compared to people who use a wheelbarrow or anything else. Your employees have to be extremely happy to get the job done in a few hours instead of working all day long. The pump is the only way to go, great video. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Do you ever get a bad slump of concrete? I do concrete foundations in New Hampshire and we constantly get concrete that is way too wet. Concrete companies around my area have some awful drivers. All your videos the slump seems perfect and I wish I had that in my life.
You’re lucky man, up here in Nor Cal we drive about an hour each way for a job almost everyday! I get up at 4:30am regularly so talk about being slow hahaha
we use to do mid rise apartment buildings 3 story all concrete floors, 6000 to 8000 sq.ft. per floor we used a truck mounted pump and everytime we used this pump it would clog at least twice !! So we would lower down the 4 inch hose beat it with a sledge and if that didnt work start taking hoses off ,,,,what a pain in the ass ,,,those 4 inch hoses full of concrete were heavy !!
40 years ago I pumped a retaining wall. Now I am building a small shed raised floor footing. I can't even get a concrete pumper to give me a quote on pumping 4.5 yards! Could you suggest, should I call redymix and see if they know someone? I was trying to get the pumpers so he could make sure the concrete he wanted for his pump. Any direction or suggestion on getting someone? Too far for you in Fontana, Thanks
Hey man love your videos I really learn a lot from them . I want to invest in a pump myself but can’t afford a new 1 yet . Do you have any recommendations on we’re to get a good used pump to start off . Thanks man
I have an olin machine just like the tulla but I have an electronic problem so that it throws cement, could you be so kind as to open your electrical box and record a video about it. copper how are the cables connected thanks
Anthony I am writing to you from Lima - Peru (South America), I quite liked your videos, congratulations and may the successes continue. I have the Olin Pump 525 and the 530, I suffer a lot in pumping with the clogging of the concrete in the transport hose and other times with the segregation of the concrete I would love some recommendations, I see that you are an expert. In your videos the pumping is very elegant and I want to be an expert like you one day. Thanks for the reply, in advance.
Hi Luis! Thanks for watching. With the Olin 525 and the 530 you have to prime it out wide open. You also have to pump a wetter slump. Give me a call anytime.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete thank you sir to reply me. there are a lot of videos on RU-vid about swing tube concrete pump working like putzmister e.t.c but how the ball valve concrete pump works? I search on youtube but did not found any information. I know the ball valve pump is the simpler and easy concrete pump but how it is works?
@@muhammadshafi227 I'm going to be doing a very through video on the ball valve pump. So I hope you can get a good idea of how this particular pump works.
Hey I’m with Tongi Concrete my brother I think has gotten in contact with you. we have an Olin pump also. It’s kicking really hard. Is there anyway you could make a video on the engine, and controls. Fluids and all that? Thank you for your videos
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete you’re the man! Watched your videos on the pump almost everyday. Just cuz it’s sucha lucrative business. Your videos give me hope in our pump lol thank you again
If I owned a pump I’d used it on every pour. But to pump a job locally for me would add $1000 to my bid. I’d miss 99% of the jobs I do adding that into my price. Fortunately we can do almost all of our jobs right out the truck. We’re not in the city. We do buggy a good amount of jobs in town. Summer time it kinda sucks. But it’s not as slow as you’d think. They hold a good amount of concrete. Winter time is no problem to buggy. Unless the yard is wet.
I love your comment on the Georgia buggy! No one uses a pump in Michigan, and I don't think you can buy one or get it serviced. Honestly I don't think anyone in Michigan can come close to your business. You would destroy all the competition. Well you already do on the West Coast!
one of the funniest things I ever saw when I was working on the site it's when one of those Georgia buggies fell over turn the corner too quickly and got kicked off concrete everywhere yeah I howled with laughter. he was ok and covered in concrete
Hello everyone! found this site last night as I'm installing a 230 foot driveway up a mountain (Lake Tahoe) by hand (video to come shortly). I'm currently using a trash can to mix 5 bag batches of concrete with drill attached mixer. I saw the reference to a "Georgia buggy" damn........................those Southern hicks, just like turning the clock back (YOU DONT WANT TO DO THAT - TRUST ME) Anyhow, I'm mixing half a yard per day (4 hours each day) and I call it EXERCISE but as soon as I pave a turn out half way up I will call in a concrete truck and load a 4 wheel drive pickup with concrete and get it done that way..........so maybe call it a California Buggy?
I think the only thing he missed saying is never kink the hose while pumping ! And i know he just poured this out for a friend but never pour over existing concrete, at least that's a no no where I'm from.
Man, I run a 580 here in SoCal and on some jobs the customer still wants me to run it faster when I'm wide open and nothing left to give. I'm in the union so all I pump is commercial stuff and almost entirely just slurry. Best part is I don't run or pull the hose around sometimes don't even set it up myself.
