Thanks for another well Put together True story.. One crucial lesson from the story of the Paisley Witches is the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence. It underscores the need for fair and just legal systems that protect individuals from unfounded accusations and mob mentality. Additionally, it serves as a reminder of the dangers of scapegoating and the importance of questioning societal norms and beliefs. Overall, it's a cautionary tale about the consequences of unchecked fear and prejudice. ❤❤
Yes! I love this story! Interestingly enough, John Shaw just happened to be in Salem, USA, curiously enough... I think Christian might have been listening in to conversations between adults and scared herself - she was only 11. Also interesting is the death of her first husband. There are people who believe that Christian and her mother Christine fabricated the whole thing, too... Or that perhaps Christian was merely a pawn in other peoples' game. Gallow Green in Paisley is actually a very pretty part of the town (and spooky as heck at night!). A few years ago, I was part of Paisley Ghost Tours for a night, as Katherine Campbell. Brilliant story - thanks for sharing it!
How interesting! I think you're right. Well, at least I hope she scared herself and wasn't just faking the whole thing! Oh wow, the ghost tour must have been a fab experience and I can definitely imagine the Gallow Green being spooky at night. Thanks for watching (and for the video topic suggestion!) Take care 🙂
What an intriguing piece of history. We really have come a long way in both spiritual and judicial practices. When you told us what the jury was threatened with my jaw dropped! I do feel bad for all the victims though, they had terrible luck. The girl, though, doesn't have my sympathy if it was faked. All of items that she coughed up being dry reminded me of the woman who gave birth to rabbits. It's possible that she had someone help her pull it off. Though I'll admit when it comes to coals I'm not entirely sure how they did it. For the hair locks though she, or an accomplice, planted them. With all of the workers in the house I wouldn't be surprised if they got some hair pieces while the servamts were sleeping or got a hair cut. This is a really good video, thank you for making it 💙💙💙
Yes, it is isn't it? I could have gone on for hours with this story 😂. I really hope that she wasn't faking it and that she really believed she had been bewitched... but she also very well could have been faking it and working with an accomplice, just like in the rabbit hoax case you mentioned. The coals are definitely difficult to explain, it could have been exaggerated, but because the doctor who supposedly saw it was so respected in the community, anything he said would have been taken as gospel! I too am glad that we've come a long way and that today, such accusations would not result in innocent people losing their lives! Thanks for watching and take care 🙂
