Conditionally Delete Rows in Excel 

After drinking a whole bottle of wine you voice is so relaxing and calming you sound like a sweet angel. Anyways back to business: 1) ctrl +A with selected cell within the group of cells you are working to select working group cells 2)ctrl+Shift+L to apply a filter 3)Text filters equals 'Complete' 4)Ctrl+- to delete the rows badaboom less than 30 seconds

This is a very long way of achieving the goal. You aren't interested in removing duplicates per se, but you are interested in removing any row that is tagged "complete" in Column C. Just click the Add Filters button to add filters to the top row of the sheet. Then click on the filter pull down arrow in column C and uncheck everything except "complete." This will filter down to only the rows containing "complete." Now just highlight and delete those rows. This takes about 5 seconds...

Without adding two helper columns D and E the Remove duplicate can also be done from column C. Saves lots of time.

This is a hard way of doing it. Why not create a table from the source data by Pressing CTRL + T and then Enter, Select only Complete from the Auto Filter drop down arrow for Column C, then select all the visible lines and delete. Because it is a table, the rows are deleted from the table. If you don't need it as a table after the delete, then clear the filter from Column C and then convert it back to a Range. Shouldn't take more than about 15 seconds to complete these tasks. Additionally, when Sandy is dragging the formula down column E, if you had thousands of rows, why not Double Click the auto fill button on the bottom right corner of the cell? It will auto fill the formula all the way down the column.

Your solution only works beginning in v 2010. In earlier versions, we could not delete only filtered records. Notice the video is in 2007 -- not 2010.

Not if you want to REMOVE the row. That'll just highlight it. You could then sort by color and delete the rows manually. Not bad if you're looking through 100 records. Not good if you're looking through thousands.

We're trying to figure out a way to do the following. We'll be getting a large spreadsheet each week and need to do the following: 1. Check column C for cells that contain exactly the letter 'A'. 2. If a cell in column C contains exactly 'A', AND if the value in column D is unique, delete the entire row.

Just sort column C alphabetically and highlight said complete rows and delete... This is wayyyy too long for something that easy. :P

To remove all 4 of the completed rows instead of 3. Rename the "Formula" Header to "Complete" then when you click remove duplicates button, uncheck "my table has headers" and check off "Column E"
