Was really excited to get this plate carrier. Love the cut, shape, and style of it. I got it all configured with pouches and gear since it's not just for LARPing (hence why I needed to put both hard and soft armor in it). Then I tested the quick release. It failed. The plastic O-Ring snapped, also creating a small cut on my hand. No big deal, it's plastic. So I order a circular carabiner key chain, since it was near perfect size. Test it again, and it failed again. This time, the crimping of the wires actually broke. I've re-crimped the wires together, and sautered it together, yet it still won't pull. I've laced the quick release cable exactly how the video shows, yet it feels like it's stuck somewhere. Had my life actually depended on engaging the quick release, it could've been bad. Love Condor and their gear, but I'm not very confident in the quality of the quick release cable. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm 5'08 and 220lbs. I wear a 48R point blank vest. This carrier is huge. I'm going to have to add a grommet or two to get this to ride higher where it should (10X12 plates). The problem then becomes the shoulder pads, they're to long and bunch up if I get the shoulder straps where they need to be. Overall happy with it. Weighs about as much as a Safariland Protech Level 4 Swat vest when you get four SAPI plates in.
It definitely needs to have more adjustment for the strap length. I am 6'2 245 and the length would be fine if I could raise the height. As it is, it sits nearly on top of my duty belt and makes mobility difficult. I contacted the company to see if I could buy shorter straps. The response was they do not sell shorter straps and adding my own grommets would negate the warranty. They then suggested I contact a dealer to enquire about shorter straps. I was able to fit the XL AR500 soft armor panels inside.
Yup, this is the exact issue Ive had with mine since I purchased it a year ago. It would great if it came in a smaller sizing. Im 5'8, around 195lb and I had to add extra grommets myself just to get it to sit higher for proper coverage
one thing that sucks about those quick release and why they aren't used in the military is when your buddies grab it and yank it off you just to screw with you.
can you guys do videos for your shirts the short sleeve and long sleeve ones? I'm kinda interested in the mesh short sleeve shirt and the one of the long sleeve I forgot what type it was.
I bought the "Vanquish" less than a year ago, unfortunately it just doesn't fit my 6'4", 280 lb. frame correctly. I'm wondering if the "Enforcer" is the answer I'm looking for.
The Enforcer has the ability to adjust 40" - 50" in the torso section. It is the only plate carrier in the Condor line that can accept an 11 x 14" ESAPI hard plates
Are you able to take the vest off without pulling the quick release tab? I'd enjoy not having a part that I could lose after having taken off my vest, but like the idea of being able to take it off really fast if I ever had to. I lose a lot of stuff lol.
