Not sure if you're gonna see this comment, but I cant believe how far you've become since the first time i started watching you almost ten years ago. Always appreciated watching just some dude reviewing whatever flight he comes across.
Condor has gone from, “oh, there’s Condor,” to, “OH, there’s Condor! Let me take a picture.” An incredibly bold and risky rebrand that I think is phenomenal. Great video
The rebrand is almost perfection. The first time I saw the stripes I was VERY doubtful to say the least. It was a bold strategy, it's still kind of ugly, but what a piece of absolute brilliance it also is. I love it! I'm from Denmark and I also associated the stripes with beachy vacation vibes, and the minute I realized that, I knew they had pulled a stroke of genius. Great video today :)
It really is an unmistakable identity. I never thought that stripes would be such a great design, especially with the different colors for each plane. Amazing in depth review David per usual.
I totally agree at first when I saw the new livery I wasn't convinced but now that it has been out there for a while I must admit that I totally love this new design which is so rare in aviation !
In cabin they look amazing, the livery is quite ugly. As said, it's branding and it actually works, but seeing them in the airports gives weird feeling.
I just flew FRA-MSP, bid for an upgrade and got it. Assigned 4G, but the head purser invited me to take open 2K. It was far and away the best flight I've ever taken! Amazing food, immaculate and dedicated service. Can't wait to fly business class again on Condor. Loved the seat and all the accessories and goodies.
@@techdefined9420 no , the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A350 come with 9 seats per row in Economy as standard, the 777 has 10 and the Airbus A330 neo has only 8.
I think their corporate identity is brilliant, you can never mistake their planes anywhere, and the different colours give an even better feel to everything, reminds me of some of the 60's airlines, like Braniff
Condor is going to serve Cabo San Lucas in Baja California this year, nonstop from Frankfurt, which is awesome! Condor is very much a German airline, which (as a German) I always liked. Gosh, I flew with them back in 1988 from DUS to IBZ on their A310, and numerous times on their DC10-30s to and from the Canary Islands. The experience was always awesome! Same as with Lufthansa. There is this comforting feeling, after s few weeks of travelling through South America or Asia or South Africa, then you step onboard and you feel already home. Of course, that is a thing for every national airlines. However, you do get that. And, with the long traditions of airlines like LH and DE, there used to be LTU with their bright red Tristars and Sparkling Wine service on their early mornings departures to the Canaries! Thank you for the video. I think we can expect over the next years some sort of a new design language concerning airline corporate identity and design, moving a away from the mediocre and boring standards of recent years!
Flown Condor to MSP last year. First time after their rebrand. I had the "pleasure" to experience the 767 Buisness Class on the way there. On my way back to Germany i flew from Vegas in the A339 and i just have to say it's a day/night differnce between these products. Condor did a fantastic job and is wayyyy ahead of Lufthansa nowerdays.
One important thing that makes the branding work: most of the really splashy striping is not visible from where you are seated. It's either behind you or on the outside of the plane.
I loved the added design review. These deeper qualities add up and make these reviews much less repetitive. Not many reviewers can do this. Most of the go for over geeking or drama queen styles 😂
I just flew YVR-FRA and the service and food was amazing. We also received two amenity kits, one was a tin container. Only negative is the seats are a bit narrow so its hard to sleep flat. Still a very impressive business class product.
Thank you for this review - one thing you did not mention is the Crew - in my experience the Condor crews have always been very attentive and friendly . I will be on this flight to SEA this summer and looking forward to it ! 🙂

Great video mate. Looked good. And the food delish. Just some advice: in English the word : salmon has a silent ‘l’. So essentially it is pronounced ‘Sam-mon’
First of all within recent months we used Condors Business Class on two occasions to and from the US. Summed up it was an overall good experience. You already mentioned some aspects where there is room for improvement. When you have a connecting flight to have this in Y in annoying, no priority baggage, no lounge, etc. Another aspect for instance when connecting via YYZ you need to enter Canada, claim your bags, drag it through the whole terminal and can finally use the preclearance to enter the US. This is more streamlined on AC, LH, KL, AF, etc. Departing FRA the appetizers real shine, IMHO they are ahead of LH. When it comes to the main course, it’s OK. On the way back to Germany the meals are hit or miss. On flights during the night I would prefer a more swift service in order to maximize sleeping time.

Stripe lines really make Condor's livery stand out amongst many other airliners in Frankfurt. The state-of-the-art a330 neo business class also evelated the premium services as well.

I agree with you totally! I love Condor’s new striped livery! (I’m tired of “eurowhite” and I’ve never liked plastering cartoon characters on aircraft.) I like the Condor livery so much I just bought a 1:200 scale model of their A330-900neo for my desk.
As a kid, back in 1973, we flew from Los Angeles to Frankfurt. Other than the logo design it didn't appear any different than Lufthansa. Looking at today's designs it really has taken a step out on its own.
30 years ago as a kid I was a frequent flier on Lufthansa and Emirates business classes. This video brought back memories. Great vid and production value.
We, as family, did Frankfurt - Mauritius and Frankfurt - Male with this plane. And is great, enough space in economy, great 4k screen and ok staff. I think the design is brilliant ( at first i thought it sucks), but smart move from them. And kids love it, and remember it very well. Overall when possible we choose Condor because it is really good.
I watched your brilliant review with dispair as your presentation made me, a recreational flying Australian aware of what is available in Europe in business class. Condor 's design, the seats, the meals,the overall service was a total revelation to me as it presents something not really available to us, 8 hours away from Singapore, 13 hours from Doha & Dubai and 14 hours to LA at high costs. I loved every minute of your review and I believe that the company obtained a valuable analysis of what they offer....10/10. Thank you!
Re 4:55 Blue and Yellow: It helps to keep in mind that Condor was for a good 40 years (until 1997) part of Lufthansa as their low cost/vacation subsidiary, and it wasn't until ca. 2010 that Lufthansa sold the last stakes in Condor. Beside colours, still visible in their logo.
Brilliant analysis. Condor have shown the way with their branding for ‘new world carriers’. PS I really like that you have kept the Virgin Australia safety card from the 777. They were great on the wide bodies. Maybe VA 2.0 can learn from Condor.
Hey David! Excellent video. SInce I live in Phoenix, I try to use Condor as much a s I can, but I don't lile to travel during the summer ironically and their service ends some time in September. Bummer. That "Ferien Lager" beer is another play on words, since it also means "holiday camp". And yes, I admit, the stripes are growing on me even though I hated them at first. I can't wait to experience their A 330. ANd you are correct about the "Strandkoerbe" ! I never thought of that !! Shame on me since I practically grew up with them on Sylt. Keep up the good work!

As a travel agent - if I can offer my customers a condor flight you can be damn sure that I will. I always chose them instead of discover, lufthansa, sunexpress, tuifly and whatever other competitor. Only be careful with marabu, nordica and all the other partners.. but main brand condor is 12 / 10.
I flew D-ANRA SEA-FRA a few months ago in 1F, a Prime Business class seat. The seat itself I found very uncomfortable. Narrow. The only position of comfort was flat, but being near the forward galley, there was constant disruption during sleep time. I gave up trying to sleep and instead tried to find a suitable semi-reclined seat position for the hours left to go on the flight. I never did find that comfortable sitting position. The food, drinks, and service were all fine though.
I might be in the minority, but I immediately liked the new design as soon as it was unveiled. Probably it's very eye-catching and unique, and not as forgettable as many others. I wish Condor will eventually join an alliance, regardless if they will move away from a holiday airliner branding or not. In doing that, they could attract more non-German customers who can benefit from the connections and other perks. Also, customers might wish to consolidate their mileage points when they fork out that much to fly in business class.
Got to agree with you on pretty much everything. Germany needs more than LH & *A, especially after AirBerlin went bankcrupt, and oneworld became less relevant in the german market.

I tried Condors new 330 Neo business class last year and was quite pleased. However, the coordination with all the connecting flight airlines was a mess and I won’t be going through that ordeal again. If you’re just flying direct legs, US city to Frankfurt and back then it’s fine. You also have lounge access on both ends but it’s a guessing game where.
