In this Adventure Ryan video, I review the Terrasaur (a bushcraft knife from Condor Tool & Knife). I go over the basic specifications of the knife and talk about some of the design features that yield themselves to bushcraft and other outdoor and wilderness skills.

I do want to play with one of these some day. I don't own any Condor as I was turned off by their less than 1095 steels on many of their knives, maybe they have changed this. I do like the full length tang on this model.

This is the best review of the Terrasaur that I have seen. I agree with all of the points you mentioned and I think the Terrasaur is the best budget bushcraft knife currently on the market. It is every bit as good as the Garberg (which I also own) but at half the price. I still think the Garberg is an excellent knife but Mora should have priced it lower in my opinion. I think Condor saw this as an opportunity and came up with the Terrasaur to capture that portion of the market.

Thanks, Marin! You're right, there's a lot of value in the Terrasaur, but it's somehow one of those knives that not a whole lot of people know about. I haven't personally used the Mora Garberg yet, but like you said, it shares a lot in common with this knife. I still plan on getting my hands on a Garberg one day just to be able to experience what it has to offer. It sounds like you own both knives--do you find yourself reaching for one more than the other?

@@AdventureRyan Yes I own both and like both. I think there is very little if any difference between them other than the price tag. You can get two Terrasaurs for the price of the carbon Garberg. The only advantage that the Garberg has is it is offered in stainless steel (14c28n) as well which is an advantage if you live in a really wet or humid area.

Nice and clear knife review😁👍! Looks to me that it is a great bushcraft knife for a good price.

The sheat leaves (not so) much to be desired. When i got this knife i tried to pull it off, but there is fairly short (two fingers) part of the handle sticking out and it held *very firmly* in the sheat. I pulled harder and the knife very suddenly got out. In the reflexive reaction on the sudden movement in one direction i moved my hand in opposite direction and i stabbed myself in the thumb on the seccond hand. Not my proudest moment. I recomend to tie some small eye from the lanyard to put the little finger and the ring finger in it for better and safer extraction from the sheat. Otherwise it is very nice for good price knife 🙂

I agree. The sheath has a lot of features that I like about (it’s secure, drains water, is loose enough to let the steel breathe…) but without at least a small lanyard, it can be a little awkward to remove. I often carry this knife in my pack, and when carried like that, removing the knife is easy since it’s a two handed process. When worn on the belt, I would definitely recommend at least a small lanyard that you can loop your pinky into.

Nice review and nice knife, but I already have about a dozen Moras. But hey, may get one anyway, because knives

Ha! I hear ya--this accidental knife collecting thing is a real problem. But if you need some justification to pick this one up, it does have a full tang blade and it's made of 1095.

Nice blade. It looks a lot like the Morakniv. Does the handle give you any hots spots if you use it a lot. Thanks for the review Ryan.

You're right, that narrow, pointy blade profile definitely resembles a lot of the knives from Morakniv. I haven't had any issues with hot spots yet, and I've put quite a bit of work into it. The handle doesn't have a whole lot of contouring (as I mentioned in the video), but there are no harsh edges--everything is curved where it needs to be. So far, I've been impressed with it. A little slick when wet--that's probably my only issue--but it does well enough.

Yeah, I really like the Terrasaur. I don’t hear a ton of people talking about it, but it’s a great knife.
