I saw semiconductors in many platforms, but no clarity. But hearing to our legend in physics i have a vast clarity. Thanks to H.C.V sir and IIT - PAL for this innovative programme in encouraging poor students in aspiring IIT as a goal.👌👌👌📕📕📕🎓
*Wow* sir loved your lecture,PLEASE COVER OTHER CHAPTERS AS WELL ,YOUR TEACHING IS #GOD LEVEL, PLEASE SPARE SOME MORE TIME FOR US PHYSICS LOVERS ,IF POSSIBLE.
How many of you are still 👀watching this even after passing your 12th boards and whatever you're studying in your graduation is not related with this, but you can't resist!
Sir , why we are considering different kind of energy band in conductors and semiconductor means in silicon there is hybridization concept, and if we are considering hybridization then why not molecular orbital theory and same kind of analogy for all types of material.
It's because if you take the example of Na, then the 3s shell can get overlapped with the 3p shell. But in p block elements, be it insulators or semiconductors, the highest occupying shell is p shell, and the next unoccupied shell is of different shell quantum number, which makes it difficult for overlapping and hence the conductivity in semiconductors is explained in the way it is being explained. (Totally my understanding, could be something entirely different)
Can we say that in solid state due to external atoms' interactions the outermost conduction band so created is actually a combination of so many new quantum states??????????
can be used for everything in which this chapter is included...... its the theory of this chapter for us to understand the concept ..its a lecture...which inc the level sequentially for us to understand the basics...and goes to the advanced level in depth..... u can use it for nythin.... this lecture is not meant for ny particular xamination.... its for understanding the concept... nd thts wt matters when we r learning somethin
Energy splitted and it is because of interaction of electrons with other atoms electron and energy gap is already there even in single atom it is because of Bohr theory
34:00 Not well explained. Why hybridized sp3 states in Silicon crystal, unlike Sodium crystal? Why the sp3 states split into Valence band and conduction band with a 1eV gap in between? Disappointing that he ran through that part, knowing how important is Silicon and understanding its physics.
