Would have liked to see a comparison of the metal brewer with a filter, to see if the unpleasant flavor was being filtered out by the paper, or if it was an inherent aftertaste from the brewer. Drawdown speed would also be a factor.
Great comparation! Love this video. Yes, V-60 (whatever any material used) is well-known for its cleanness & refinement, owing to the ridges and the angle.
for the metal cone dripper, most of people have a bad experience with it. I guess it's due to ite material and the shape. coffee fine might pass through the mesh a little bit versus the paper filter might give you a cleaner result. usually the fine stick to the paper wall to prevent channeling. I couldn't tell how the physics work for the metal cup. Maybe someone has a better insight on this?
i think you have a good start here. the music was a little off, distracting, and deliver was a little stiff sometimes, but i could really see this going somewhere. nice, set, too! l laughed a few times at the dude on the left, like that mercury comment hahaa. he seemed more comfortable and natural in front of the camera. (will check out more... this was my first one. too bad you wanna curbstomp the metal one. i got one of those brewers that looks like a mini chemex, but a metal filter like this. tho - also got a flower to try, and a ceramic v60. i was aware people thought they gave really diff results, and i can't help but wanna test.🙂)
Yes absolutely, French Press is great. I just feel that pour overs allow you more control over the brew, plus the process is more involved and therefore feels more special
