My great great grandfather was in the union army along with his brother, the other brother was in the confederate army. It’s hard for us modern Americans to get a grasp of how life was during this time

I wish more folks would realize it's about heritage not hate. IMO there is no difference is being a proud southerner than a person who celebrates Cinco De Mayo, Columbus Day or St. Patrick's Day. We need to stop being so damn PC and show some respect for ALL people.

during my days of the gulf war a navy vet I loved Confederate Railroad, thou I was not born in the 13 southern states my heart and soul lay w/dixie. Especially with all that is going on in this country today.

It's good to know that the boys of Confederate Railroad are still around. And props to Danny and the boys for not cowering down to the political correctness fascists that were demanding they change the band name. I'll be going to see them in a couple of weeks when they come to Wetumpka Alabama and singing every word to every song that takes me back to my 90's high school years.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the Confederate reenactors used during the making of this video. We were on the flat cars behind the coal car and wandered behind the band around the campfire. I was also interviewed by Entertainment Tonight. During the campfire scene someone backed a minivan with sound equipment just out of sight and the guys lip-synced the lyrics. The Confederate/Federal scenes were shot at the Chattanooga Railway Museum.

+William Mode During a support the flag rally here in Memphis on Nathan Bedford Forrest's birthday,there was a Confederate re-enactor group rendering honors to both the American flag and the Confederate flag. I commented to a reporter covering the even that "It was funny that Confederate and Union drill and ceremonies during the War between the States were the same.It was almost as if everyone was American or something." That comment didn't make the evening news.

Lemme break it down for you: she's in New York City in the middle of summer, he is in Dixie, and his heart is cold (and so is his entire being and soul) despite the hot, southern summer. "Summer in Dixie" was Confederate Railroad's first single to miss making the Top 40 in the United States. It only managed to get to #55, where as "Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind", and "Elvis and Andy", from the same album, made it to #9 and #20, respectively. It's kind of sad really, because this is probably the best song on the "Notorious" album in my opinion.

+KELLY HUFFMAN Keep in mind, you and I are the minority. The majority who don't pay taxes, live on welfare, and use the system, are the ones who complain and get their way. It's the US Government at it's finest...only the weak will survive. ...because they get the perks. Taking down the Confederate flag in South Carolina was a sin, pure and simple. Some day...people with brains will run the country again, and history will be able to enjoyed by all.

I mean, Im from Virginia, and we used to be very southern, but northern virginia is overrun with DC government workers, and you really dont feel the South there anymore.

Seen flag in Northern Wisconsin! Nothing wrong with southern pride! Nothing to do with salvery! That wasn't was the war was about! It was about the Southern states leaving the Union! The end of the slavery was part but not the main reason!

Lived in Georgia and Arizona (Mesa) in the summer. AZ is hot, dry hot but Georgia heat is 110% humid. dog days in Georgia can be real suffocating.

They're still performing and wouldn't change the bands name while all the controversy over it cudos to Danny and the boys for sticking to their roots. Danny lives not to far from me I use to fish in the pond behind his home now .back when They're was no houses there

Anyone else here drunk? I love my woman, she’s upstairs alsleep, but I think it’s the end of our relationship because I have no more love to give to her 16 year old son who has a problem with drugs and stealing and punching holes in my drywall. If I dent his forehead, I go to jail. But if he comes home my woman will stop crying maybe. I’m at a loss...... literally on my front porch having a smoke, beer, staring at the night sky, debating whether to bail. This song makes me have hope but I don’t know.
