I recently got running with a different GPON SFP (not SFP+) in a UDM-Pro Finally cracked it 😀 // Awesome videos. For me was clone Mac, serial and ploam as ppoe username 😁
To add to this ISP supplied ONU's (fiberhome brand but also have had ZTE issue) I have ping latency and daily speed tests my UDM-PRO is consistently faster connection. 10% lower latency 15-20% speed increases I have 750/750 fiber to home in Thailand. Can make 1000/500 or 500/1000 too. Always 850/850 with 900 burst and reporting over 1Gbps on unifi I note these SFP GPON ONU's are 1Gbps on ethernet interface. Are there SFP+ GPON ONU's yet? 😅
Hey, thanks for the information. Can you share your current city and the GPON SFP module name? There is another viewer from Thailand and he is trying to get rid of the ISP ONT and replace it with a 2.5G SFP module. We are waiting for the parts to arrive for further testing, but I would be great to get some information from you.
Great Video, the tip about accessing the device on the WAN port is particularly helpful. I was running a 2.5 Fiber router (bridge mode) and a ER-X unit, but now I've upgraded to a (save's me a power socket) ER-X SFP and a ODI 2.5Module ( DFP-34X-2C2) been running sweet for a few days. Feel the ER-X SFP is a little better performance than the ER-X basic model.
Cool. I also have a ER-X SFP, unfortunately I am running Gigabit plan and my ISP allow >1 Gbps throughput. So I am now using a 2.5G Media Converter and the 2.5G GPON SFP module.
@@VanTechCorner do you mean the modem (GPON) side negotiate at 2.5G/1.25G but module ethernet chipeset is still SFP standard (1Gbps, not SFP+ - up to 10Gbps) ? I have module in SFP+ port (UDM-PRO) and it negotiate 1Gbps. I have SFP+ ethernet modules that negotiatiate at 10G but serve 10, 5, 2.5, 1, /100 etc. GPON SFP+ exist does the same? Looking into chipset that has 2.5Gbps ethernet lan. They sell the plans here...
Hi, I 've appreciated a lot your video but I'm not able to ping the Gpon module. I'm able to ping the IP address of the same subnet added to the Eth5 port. I've created the NAT masquerad too. thanks
Couple of points. Firstly as per the release notes ipsec hardware offloading does not work on the Mediatek Edgerouters like the X SFP when using EdgeOS 2.x Secondly you have an MTU of 1492 on your pppoe interface. Consequently, you want to set some MSS clamping "set firewall options mss-clamp interface-type pppoe mss 1452". Finally, you should not need to setup masquerading to access the GPON SFP if you configure things properly. It is a routing issue and no masquerading is required. "show ip route" from the CLI should show it as a connected route at which point it should work. Might be some artefact of the wizard, I have only setup Edgerouters using the CLI.
Hello You could make and upload one with the HSGQ XPON STICK module, but with a Vlan. Please. Since in your video Configure the EdgeRouter I would appreciate
Can I use it with GPON SFP module but only as a switch So all the intent traffic passes through edge router to my main router UCG ultra Basically no routing/dhcp/nat/firewall?
Hey, this information is on your ISP provided router. After login, you should be able to find something like: WAN MAC Address, or if it doesn't work, try the device's MAC address. From my experience, the WAN interface's MAC should be a little bit different from the ISP router's MAC. Another solution is to ask your ISP.
Hello Van Tech Corner, can you do Lan port to Wan conversion in OpenWrt 22.03.5 ? I can't see any tutorials about that, since on that version there's no switch options in the networking settings. Hope you's see this. Thank you
Hope you are well? Please help me, I wanted a tutorial. I want to use 2 separate isp's broadband together, both ppoe connection. Using mwan3,loadblanching openwrt, with wire guard vpn I want to make it a completely different isp. You have earlier tutorials on this topic, but I want tutorials on latest openwrt's mwan3, load blanching, wireguard. My Router Model: Tp-Link Archer C6 V3 I am using openwrt on this router.
Can you help me vs GPON ONU Stick with MAC SFP 1310nm-TX/1490nm-RX 1.244G-Tx/2.488G-Rx Class B+ 20km DDM SC/APC SMF Optical Transceiver Module runs on edge router6p I have set it up as you instructed but cannot log in to sfp
Hi. I'm newb in linux, and can't find problem solution: my xiaomi r3g v1 used for transmission + samba. I was made installation by official openwrt guide, but facing with several problems: 1) transmission installing on tmp folder by default; 2) transmission and samba4 have issues with user-group (problems with deleting and moving files) 3) maybe [2] provide some problem with partition table - after ssd completely written once I can't delete and rewrite it (system think there is no space left). I can't find solution and never heard about this problem. And pleas give advice about user policy to use with smb and transmission.
Your router’s rom is padavan or openwrt? I’m using a xiaomi 3g as well. But I am using the keenetic rom with all features such as: smb, upload and download torrent, ftp… Let try it on your router if you want.
So... after 3 times reinstalling openwrt I have know 2 things about openwrt and transmission + samba with ext4 ssd: 1) don't use official guide (transmission don't have permission for writing on /mnt/sdX directory (even as root in my case); 2) new samba4 don't work with macos as previews - can't entering with password; 3) I didn't fully write disk for emulating out of space error, but I think it's there. Did not why OpenWRT so RANDOM generated bu++ igniter. In previous revision samba works normal transmission run as "root", but now it's total trash. And no one no how transmission as "transmission" can write on /mnt/sdX
