It really isn't that common. It takes a lot of effort and expense to confine a human being in a space like that for any amount of time. It's also far easier to trace people than it was in the past.

It was nec for me to finally look in the mirror to see what I needed to change about myself. Among other things and actions, I found these books very empowering indeed = "Women Who Love Too Much", "The Mask of Sanity", "People of The Lie", "The Sociopath Next Door", "The Emotionally Abused Woman" and "Codependent No More" - to name a few, lol. ~"Putting to the test" can cost a helluva lot. I no longer partake of that myself. I much prefer steering clear of the wicked, as much as possible and passing on this kind of info to hopefully lead others to educate and empower their own selves too. ~~Best wishes to you on your journey!
