People talk about Tony Stark completing his character arc in Endgame by sacrificing himself with the snap but he had already made the sacrifice play several times before. He told Pepper to turn on the arc reactor in order to kill Jebidiah (whatever) in the first Iron Man movie even though he was also in the blast area and could've died, he flew the nuke through the portal in the first Avengers movie, he blew up the floating city in AOU and even told Thor they'd probably die doing it, he got on Thanos/Ebony Maw's ship to save The Wizard in Infinity War knowing there was only a small chance of coming back, and he went on the time heist knowing before hand that the chances of making it through alive were slim. Cap just made a snap judgement in the first Avengers movie after only knowing Stark for a short amount of time when he said Tony wouldn't make the sacrifice play. Maybe Tony wouldn't have thrown himself on a grenadebut he was clearly willing to sacrifice his life to achieve the mission, I just think he wanted to be more strategic with his sacrifice and only use it as a last resort.

Hulk was the only avenger that thanos was supposed to actively avoid. I really hoped Hulk would get some kinda comeback on him on endgame. Particularly when Banner says 'Its like it was made for me' had me in the cinema thinking i was going to see world war hulk, and then he gets 0 screentime in the actual battle

I just wish that after Thanos says "All of that for a drop for blood?" that tony would have said "Riddle me this...do gods bleed" It would be such a Tony thing to say.

which, having watched this after endgame's release, leads me to believe he watched what happened to hulk when he used the glove and found a way to use the reality stone to hide his being alive still from the avengers so he, Pepper and their daughter could hang out in their woodland villa alone, with only Cap being the one who would "just know," going to the past to hide out as Rodger Stevens and live with Peggy, and he would leave Tony alone anyway because his time with Peggy would be a reminder that heroes need lives too. Awwww.

One of my favorite upgrades you some how forgot. In iron man 2 he gets shocked from Vanko. Then in Avengers when thor shocks him, he gets to 400% max power.

Also his shield was made out of nanobots in infinity war, but the nanobots were slowly being destroyed. So in endgame he has the hologram shield technology from wakanda so he doesn't waist nanobots

Being a futurist would explain how they subconsciously know of the other party's existence. Like Tony, who instinctively knew a big bad enemy was out there, but didn't know it was someone named Thanos. It doesn't explain how Thanos knew exactly who Tony was, even his name. I think a more likely explanation would be that he got much more details on the battle during Avengers 1 than we suspect. Like maybe the scepter was actually a spycam and Thanos heard a lot of information about all his Earth enemies out of that or something.

First it was: "Mr. Stark I don't wanna go..." and "Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good.." Now it's: "Mr. Stark, we won" and "I love you 3000"

There is a small flaw in ur talking abt him upgrading his suit, the suit in the fight with thanos was made with nanites that form into whatever he is thinking about, when he was thinking abt the movie aliens he made a plasma cannon shaped like a xenomorph head

3:33 its interesting that our first glimpse and line about Thanos was referencing courting Death. Thanos grinned at that statement. As we know from the comics that was the original plot line of Infinity Gauntlet but it got completely abandoned and we never got a version of Death as a physical entity in the MCU.

When Rhodey fell in Civil War, he added a parachute in Peter's suit (while he had the suit before handing it over to Peter himself after the civil war). The thrusters were for Ultrasonic flight when he was not able to catch Rhodes. He may had got the idea when he was in his first fight with the F-22 raptors. Also he added auto aiming missiles when his aiming system failed in the Civil War. He went nanotech, when Antman penetrated in his suit.

Another adaptation scene that was missing was the fight scene in the first Avengers movie between Thor and Iron Man in the forest, where Thor strikes him with lightning and Starks suit energy levels reach over 400% capacity. We can see Stark's adaptive resolution in Avengers Endgame in the final fight with Thanos, when Stark orders Thor to attack him and his suit changes to receive the entire power of the lightning strike and then uses his blasters to attack Thanos.

nanotech hybrid where the solid armor has nanotech that helps repair and replace parts. And as extra adaptation, in the movie you can see that the nanotech is quite weak but verry adaptable.

You make some very good and reasonable arguments. Though I would add a couple caveats to these. Such as I would say that though his views as a futurist aid in his progress I think that anyone with similar intelligence would be able to do it with his resources and enough time, I believe that the real driving force thar makes such rapid progression possible his his morality, conscience and fear of loss/failure. You see heavily in the first Iron Man movie and you see it in Spiderman: Homecoming when he tells Peter "I wanted you to be better". His hatred for his flaws and failures I believe are what truly makes him (combined with his views as a futurist) capable of such rapid adaptation

Tony's arc was completed when he had his daughter. By that point, he understands that preserving the lives of his child and Pepper is more important than preserving his own life. But what got him there was meeting Peter Parker and realizing (to his embarrassment) that despite being younger, Peter was just as brilliant and powerful as Tony, and actually MORE mature than him in terms of his morality. Peter had the power to do great harm, but he always chose to do good. This vexated Tony because Tony can't fully comprehend the idea of "innate goodness." Peter possessed the same moral compass as Captain America. But where Tony had nothing but contempt for the "boy scout" Steve Rogers (mostly because Howard Stark gave Steve his powers,) he has nothing but admiration for the "boy" Peter Parker. Peter demonstrates to Tony the one thing Ironman lacks as a superhero - humility. This begins the last phase of Tony's growth as a person... deconstructing the remnants of the egotistical, self-centered Tony Stark and replacing him with a man who'll give his life to save the universe - which of course he does. Peter looks up to Tony... he desperately wants to be just like him, never realizing that he is actually Tony's teacher. And he's the ONLY PERSON who could be that teacher because Peter is the one and only person that Tony looks up to.

I don't remember if I noticed this the first time I watched the movie but watching it here I noticed that Tasha Romanoff Black widow just response to what Tony said in this video it's 4:10 and when Tony is verbally stripped of his armor to say what's left Black widow had a pretty interesting light response that I think says a lot

With all the nanotech implementation, it's strange that he didn't shrink the reactor to scale (size and number) with the nano's. Then again.....if that WERE the case, any shred of damaged armor laying around after a battle would be vulnerable to theft and reverse engineering....unless of course each nano is hard coded during creation to erase any and all data upon catastrophic damage......hold up...I got work to do

Imagine if Tony upgraded the Hulk buster suit with nanotech and Vibranium tech from Wakanda, and still had a giant floating machine in the sky raining down more tech in case of repairs. What if he had made even more suits like in Iron Man 3 and had an AI controlling all of them to fight, again, with Vibranium and nanotech.
