I worked as a Bone Marrow Transplant R.N. for 22 years. No way would have been in a patient's room without a mask.

Thank you. I had a stem cell transplant when I was 16 (not sure if it’s the same on adult wards, but there is only one hospital in my state with a paediatric oncology ward, and the isolation rooms were just behind some closed doors in one of the 2 oncology wards and it was the same nurses for the bone marrow and stem cell patients) I had a 50% survival rate over the following 5 years with the transplant. I’m about to be 28 now and by some miracle I was happily surprised at 24 to find out I was pregnant! I gave birth 6 weeks after my 25th birthday and now have an almost 3 year old son. Thank you for what you did, the nurses where who got me through it, well and truly.

@@maddyspinks Aww. Bless You! I'm happy to hear you are thriving and congratulations on your son! I am retired now, but I loved my work and my patients. Cancer sucks! I am now a patient at the very cancer center I use to work for, but things are going well for me.

Rich of the doctor to say, “I’ve e used everything I have; now it’s up to you,” as if she hasn’t been the one fighting all along.

You should give her Zofran for the nausea and Benadryl to help within the other side effects. My mom's doctor did that and it got rid of a laundry list of side effects.
@marinam.2293
@marinam.2293 5 месяцев назад
I've tried every nausea medication possible. Zofran was actually first step, all the others (stronger ones) came after. For me, Zofran was about as useful as Tic-Tacs. Nothing helps. Some of us are just wired that way.
