Well done Kevin. I have been watching Matt for a long time, he’s a good guy and a great builder. I like how he is honest about his mistakes to help others.
He’s right about fresh air.. humidity causes many health problems associated with moulds dust mites etc.. a lot of the problems are with having carpet!

Love it awesome video! Glad you two met up, he is definitely a great contractor. Just building a passive house alone when he sells in 10-15yrs time he will get his money back and more. More and more clients are asking today for these kinds of builds the movement of a healthy energy efficient home is going to be as much apart of our future as buying an electric car vs. gas.
WOW! I love this sort of video Kevin, it is a wealth of information for the layman. Please consider making more that speak about the good and bad of buying, remodeling, renting, and owning a house.
So how exactly are you suppose to prevent mold ? You can't fight the environment.. if everywhere is 80 percent humidity and hot.. you'd have to make sure your home is literally air tight ...every inch...... And ac on 24 hours a day ....Like is tht even possible..

Hey Kevin, Great video! I learned a lot listening to you two play off each other. I actually started watching your videos when you did that first video critiquing Matt's remodel and subsequently became a fan and avid viewer of your content and you as a person. I have watched and liked ALL of your RU-vid content. You really do offer more value! If I were ridiculously rich and could pay enough to make it well worth your while I'd have Mr Risinger build my dream house and you be my consultant for the build.

Kevin, you and Matt should do a rental remodel together with every AFFORDABLE, quality component possible and test for increased rent price elasticity.
Ha well the funny thing is, if super tight houses sit without any hvac running in humid climates like during a disaster, you can get mold issues very quickly because the moisture in the air isn’t being removed by the hvac system. That’s the same reason Matt is a big fan of having a separate dehumidifier so gotta have the full off grid battery bank and solar too to be alright.
