Unfortunately it is the new face of America. Homelessness, unemployment, mentality ill and poverty. Even those who are 1 or 2 paychecks away feel blessed. I bet if they had a car they would be doing the door dash and whatever they could too.
It's not. Freedom of speech and panhandling are two distinct concepts, although they may intersect in certain contexts. Freedom of Speech: This is a fundamental right that allows individuals to express their opinions, ideas, beliefs, and thoughts without fear of censorship, retaliation, or legal sanction from the government. In many countries, including the United States, freedom of speech is protected by law, often enshrined in constitutions or legal statutes. It encompasses a broad range of expressions, including verbal speech, written communication, artistic expression, and symbolic actions. Freedom of speech allows individuals to criticize the government, engage in political discourse, express dissenting views, advocate for social change, and engage in various forms of artistic and cultural expression. Panhandling: Panhandling refers to the act of soliciting money or goods from others, typically in a public place. Panhandlers may ask for donations, spare change, or other forms of assistance from passersby. Panhandling often occurs in urban areas, near busy streets, sidewalks, or public transportation hubs where there is pedestrian traffic. Panhandling can take various forms, including verbal requests, holding signs, or performing in exchange for money. While panhandling may involve communication or speech, it is primarily a form of solicitation for economic assistance rather than a form of expression protected under freedom of speech laws. While both freedom of speech and panhandling involve forms of communication, they serve different purposes and are subject to different legal and social considerations. Freedom of speech is a constitutional right aimed at protecting individual expression and fostering democratic discourse, while panhandling typically involves requests for material assistance and may be subject to regulations aimed at balancing the interests of individuals seeking aid with public safety and order.
The way i see it is that there are many social catch nets to help homeless/destitute people, the problem is that most of these people don't want the help because then they would have to follow the rules, which they won't do, which is what likely brought them to their present situation. Something of an over simplification but for the majority this is the case. I never give to these delightful people. I work for my money.
They are doing what they wanna do. They aren't hurting anybody, if you don't want to give them money then don't. You don't have to like it and your free to yell "it's a scam" to other drivers that's the way to combat it if you think it's wrong. Get a sign that says beware of scammers if your that passionate and get that worked up about it. Maybe it's where I live, but that was the opposite of a aggressive interaction that would convince me to call 911 and I am pretty sure I wouldn't be shaking with adrenaline lol you would probably faint if you were in my shoes the last time I was shaking with adrenaline haha just let them be dude don't let someone else affect your day. Next time maybe ask them a little about what they are taking money for, do a little research and then call bs. Idk maybe you could help in a way other than money?? Btw I am Christian and that's how I feel we should act towards others
Pissed, lol to funny......... His hands were shaking because he was scared!!!!!!!!!! My man could not even man up and get out to walk over and talk one on one. Pleeeeeeease what a beeeeeeeeotch
You obviously do not live in Texas. These pan handlers will say anything to get you to give them money, even when you tell them to leave you alone. He was obviously trying to tell them to leave him the hell alone. These are also two GROWN MEN confronting this man. Mind you, both two times the size of him. He would be been beaten or worse. You obviously do not think about the dangers it is in confronting a panhandler. Atleast he's making the effort to warn us AND others on the road of these people that demand money from you in support of "Jesus." No church would be begging people on the side of the road for money.
LoL.."The reason I'm wasting the police & the dispatchers time, is because I told him to get away from my car and he wouldn't do it." Dude, you wanted them to get close to your car so you could record an incident, put it on youtube, in hopes that it went viral and you could make money.
I can't believe all the people in these comments siding with the scammers! Im sorry everyone us hiring right now! Use that time working not telling other hard working people that you are collecting money for God or orphans or literally any other kind of thing that might tug at heart strings!
Hey man, i randomly landed on this video and I gotta say it. Be and let be. It's not worth the confrontation. Are they scamming? Yea, but it's a nickel and dime scam, and if people give them a couple of bucks so be it. As long as they aren't strong arming or intimidating people into giving them money, it's not worth it to engage.
