@@demons-devil1557 in the movie they made it seem like he died actually holding this and even that most likely is not the vaan, thinking about it makes this even More haunting in a Way. Amazing talent. R.I.P.
@Luigi Raimondo Pomo Yeah, these musicians were timeless geniuses! We gotta thank them for their work that makes our lives better, specially during these hard times. Greetings from Colonia, Uruguay! Keep strong.
I fell in love with Mozart's music when I was 10 years old. I have a severe reaction to poison ivy. That spring/summer Amadeus was on cable. I got poison ivy from a vine that grew into my mothers grape vine. We'd play kick ball and the ball would roll into the ivy. All night I would wipe the sweat off my face, unaware that I was actually coating my face with poison ivy oil. I woke up the next morning and my face had swollen so much I could barely open my eyes. The humid summer heat was a nightmare to my itch factor. All I did for weeks was lay around in agony. The coolest place in thew house was our basement were the TV with cable was. One day I watched Amadeus the best I could with swollen face and eyes. At times all I could do was listen to the music. It would calm me down and I couldn't feel the itch and the burn. I'm 43 now and every time I watch the movie or hear this song it takes me back and calms me down.
Richtig....you, are right....i am from BERLIN.......its magnificent....you. the "farmboy" felt it. It's music for the soul. Not the flesh.....gott segne Sie.....
Mozart is my hero and every time I listen to this it makes me cry. He is my rock as a Musician and Composer as because of him, I learnt to love it when I was young. Bravo Mozart, I shall see you soon upstairs and cannot wait to meet you... Neither me or dad can.
2:53 - So haunting, yet beautiful! Confutatis and Lacrimosa are wonderful on their own, but as the one piece they were meant to be, they work out so well.
i adore Mozart's music!!! his music give me totality freedom and the silence. his music help me remain in my world and uncovering my things in the drawings or poems. my life was a tragedy.
Il y’a 30 ans que j’ai vu le film Amadeus et c’est le confitatus qui m’a le plus marqué. Quel beau partition. Indéniablement c’est le plus grand des grands. Bravo.
Wow!!!-To think this was going through Mozart’s head when he was dying. Only 35, which meant he had plenty of life and music left in him to compose. Gone way before his time!!! Such a tragic and masterful tale his life was and he left this world his music, his talent and his haunting secrets. Long rest his soul in the afterlife. ❤️❤️🎶🎶
Amazing. Every time I listen to this music I feel touched by Grace, deep down in my Soul. Thank you Amadeus. May your music remain immortal, as you are. Amen.
I am here because our choir is learning it. It was played during a zoom choir practice. We had to pick out our parts and sing with it. Excellent practice.
I remember at age 8 I would beg my parents to take me to listen to the full requiem in a church nearby. They slept through the whole thing whilst I was crying from an odd mix of sadness, joy and helplessness. I also started insulting my piano teacher because she told me that I couldn't play the requiem on the piano
Christian funerals are a mixture of sadness and joy. We are sad because our loved one is parted from us. But we have joy because the grace of God through the death of Christ on the Cross provides for our eternal salvation. We'll see them again because we had faith in the Lord Jesus and that faith will bring us together someday. This brings us hope, which is a confidence concerning the future.
fun fact; up to about 3.15 is all mozart the rest is Süssmayr who finished it a year later, although it is a somewhat contentious term. many others have also attempted to finish it there are many, many different versions. some created as recently as the 2010's
Oh my god...i just realized one of my favorite children of bodom songs (Red Light in my Eyes pt.2) is strongly influences by this piece. Thats some great homage considering it's melodic deathmetal. No wonder I enjoy this band so much more than any other band
Indeed. It's truly sad that one of the most talented and prolific musicians humanity has ever known is buried somewhere in a mass grave, where the exact location has been lost to time. It would've been great if some of the royalty with whom Mozart was acquainted could have gotten him a proper grave site, although if I remember correctly I believe in Austria you don't buy a burial plot outright, you have to essentially pay rent for the entire time the body is in the plot & if the payments stop they relocate you to communal plots. Weird practice.
I liked Mozart just in general, about as much as I enjoyed Beethoven or Bach. I know it is dramatized, but after seeing Amadeus (1984), this whole piece feels different, and that particular scene going over the layers upon layers just made me a huge fan
Original Lyrics Confutatis maledictis Flammis acribus addictis Voca me cum benedictis Oro supplex et acclinis Cor contritum quasi cinis Gere curam mei finis

When the world crumbles, when the structures of a civilization falter, it is good to return to that which in history does not flex, but on the contrary recovers courage, gathers the separated, pacifies without bruising. It’s worth recalling that the genius of creation is also moving in an history devoted to the destruction
how did someone make this? i think about those who invented the instruments, developed music theory, and this creativity.. all presented in this form is beyond my comprehension similar to the mystery of space and time
