Fishing for conger eel from cliffs , a damaged fish came up so I decided on a catch an cook , nothing of this fish has gone to waist. #catchandcook #congereel #ukcongereel
Ohhh noooo - A big reason that I love your channel compared to other coastal foraging channels: you don´t use music! when we see and hear you, only you and your friends voices and natures sounds, it is like being there with you. Music is brutal in that way, it rips us out of that feeling instantly. Anyways, just my opionion. You are brilliant and you don´t nead it. Cheers from a Dane
Sat here with my boy watching Smash. He told me to say he loves the catch and cooks. They give him recipe ideas since he wants to be a chef. Cheers for that mate👍🇨🇦
I now this is a late post, but I just joined this group. The eel looks and sounds FANTASTIC! I am not an eel fan, but this catch and cook might convert me. You made one analogy to dogfish. I have never had codfish. What is it like? This catch and cook was great ! If you see this comment, please do more like it. Love you two! Ciao!
Oy ice cream freezer geezer. I love watching you fishing, and your incredible knowledge of all the fish crustaceans sea anemones. Also you are a great cook. My mouth is always watering when i see you serve up delish seafood. Respect mate awesome. Keith Luton Bedfordshire UK rules.
SMASH!!! Always fun to watch an older vid. You should launch a small Kickstarter. Maybe something cheap like a signature hook or something. I know your fans would love to have something like that
Fantastic catch and cook! I used to cook for a living so I might have used about 1/3 tsp of pepper and the same amount for salt in your beer batter with a very generous amount of garlic and herb. The milk and flour will take some of the warmth from the pepper and garlic, and the extra salt will help cancel any lingering bitterness from the beer and play up the sweetness of the meat. And because it's a light fish and I'm a brown ale man myself I might have used Newcastle instead of the lager you've got there but it all looks great. I've been binge watching your vids. =)
Love it chap ingloriousfishing will team up with you again so love the hit the Subscribe button me and the misses was crack up kept repeating it love it great content
Just watched this, I haven't eaten conger for about 25 yrs, last time I had 1 I must have ruined it cooking it. Watching this makes me want to give it another go.
I knew i seen those pliers before somewhere ha ha. The ending mate me so hungry haha. I wish i was there with you guys on that cliff that night. I will get one
Hey guys, another well presented Vlog. Just love em! Ive fished for 51 years...…..never tried conger eel! If it is like LSD as Sam suggested, I'll give it a go, as I really like the meat on them, and GSD's Recovering from leg surgery, so I'll smash my way through the rest of your vids. Have you considered a Patreon account Jay? I'd give you a few quid a month to keep SMASH! running, and with the views you get, it would help towards tackle, night lights fuel, ingrediaents etc. You guys live on a small Island, nothing there is cheap!! Swainiac!
Love your videos guys. I am new to your channel just found it a few days ago but I have been watching the crap out of them. I love that y’all eat all this great stuff. Keep up the great finds and meals. Hi from north east Arkansas!
Great stuff Smash, really enjoyed this one. When I read the cook bit I thought uuh,not for me,but now I've seen what you did I might give it a go ! Keep up the good work.
Your video are so much better now than then. Prefer your intro to your videos you currently have then in this one. Your more relaxed now. Still enjoyed this one.

@@SMASHFISHING R u related to inglorious fishing ? I like his videos too. I'm off to tenerife for few nights in the morning taking my spinning gear with me! Looking forward to it and get away from this storm we are having here in Manchester 👍🎣
it seems to hard for some of the fans to find these older videos .you get asked a lot in chat would you ever eat conger . maybe you should cook another one .. if you can take the ,,smell,, conger is not the nicest smelling things to cook .. my misses banned me from munching them about 25 years ago hahahaha
When I was a nipper a Looonnnnggg time ago, if we were sick we would get steamed conger, don't remember if I enjoyed it or not but it was recommended by the doctor!!.
very good vid as normal never tried conger as people say thay tast like sht but i will have to give it a go now.Would be good to hear sam talk a bit more tho keep the good work up
Where's the black pepper salt lemon and tartar sauce !...No ,, great job boys I'd always been told they weren't worth the effort and they stank ,it just goes to show you proved them wrong.
Really like the video especially since this isn't a species we have here . I could go fishing for conger eels after this video and feel comfortable that I knew enough to make a really good attempt. The cooking an the attitude between you guy's is amazing. I have really become a fan of the channel since the first foraging on the beach video that I watched
SO HAPPY you don´t use music in your videos anymore! That is what makes you special - NOT doing that! -and that is why me and my mates watch your videos!
Rick Kania very true ! I used to use a bit of flooring but got lazy to be honest mate haha instead I sharpen my knife after every bait fishing trip 😂 thanks for watching and have a nice Christmas an new year dude !
