Sea Fishing UK - Wreck fishing for Conger Eels - I researched and combed the local charts for wrecks with a good potential for conger eels. I am always keen to catch eels, they are great sport and have the real potential for monster sizes. In this video I talk through the tactics for catching conger eels, my preferred conger eel rigs and baiting techniques. And more manage to show you some great fish!!!

What I like best about this video is that on all the boats ive been on and almost all the videos on here I watch. There's loads of panic onboard when a conger comes over, you just pull them out nice and calm. Great Upload mate!
@TheFishLocker

@@TheFishLockerGreat videos John, I've been fishing since a child and I'm still learning a lot off you. We caught two large ones in rapid succession within 20 minutes in a v. small boat with four occupants, no T-bars, mayhem ensued with copious slime, had no choice but to head back in. Wicklow Town Bay Ireland. Keep her salty!

co0ter1 - Welcome to the channel. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying the content. Please, when you say quite different from others you’ve seen, what do you mean? I have started creating some playlists that explain the different tackle I use -pros/cons and uses. And also a playlist for the “small boat owner/user” where I explain how to anchor a wreck etc. ( this is a working progress and will have more vids in the coming week ) Also, in the rig making playlist I show my preferred rigs - eg For conger. 😉👍🏻🎣 I hope they are useful to you. Tight lines. 😊👍🏻🎣🛥🐟

I only really watch Graham for boat fishing, by different I mean that he tends to fish straight on the bottom whereas you tend to bump along and drift. I only recently got a small dinghy this year, something that I can put on the roof rack. I live in Leicester but have a sister in Lepe and she used to live in Falmouth. I have always fished these places from the shore,I got the bug for sea fishing whilst living in Cardiff for about 7 years. Always fished from shore though and never been on a boat, that is why you and Graham's channels interest me. Ideally I would like to get a boat about 12 foot in the future, something that will fit in a lock up garage and be trailered South.The dinghy is a taster for me and something to acquire a bit of kit with.
@TheFishLocker
@TheFishLocker 5 лет назад
co0ter1 - Cool. I see how you mean. I tend to tailor my fishing to the conditions. Big tides and strong currents are better for drift fishing and lures/livebaits. Small tides and weak currents are best for anchoring. The boat I have now is a 16ft Orkney, the one before was a 14ft Orkney. Both great boats but the extra 2ft really make a massive difference. Good idea though to start small and learn the skills before investing lots of money. The small boat owner user vids I’m making should be of use to you. 👍🏻🎣🛥

Hello buddy I’ve a few questions How close do you need to be will the conger come out to look for food or do they sit in there holes wait for food to come to them I’ve a wreck not too far from me I want to fish in my boat but am not that experianced in rod n line over a wreck ( suppose only 1 way to learn)
@TheFishLocker
@TheFishLocker 3 года назад
- You are right in that there is only 1 way to learn. They will come out a certain distance but its best to be close to the wreckage. It also depends on wether that are hungry!! haha.

hi, what size slow jig do yo use and what depth of water you fishing ?? Keep up the good work !!
@TheFishLocker
@TheFishLocker 5 лет назад
1977fuzzedup - It depends, you have to match the weight with the conditions. Deeper water/stronger tide/faster drift means heavier jig needed. On that day I was in 180ish ft with a slow run of tide so 100g was ok.
