when they don't do this the horse herds continue to grow in population, then starve or die of thirst in droughts. Controlling populations is essential.
Is there a chance we can adopt the buckskin paint filly and her buckskin father and have them somewhere where they can be together? Because this is just so sad.
I have a HUGE distrust the BLM Manangement Operations. THAT mare death could have been prevented. If there is extreme pressure. Panic happens. Release rather than further pressure. The next band coming into the trap is already in progress. The circus like drama is so stressing to equines. I understand these operations. Personally know people from Nor Cal and Oregon Who have seen such incidents.
The poor mare who perished should have been removed Why wasn’t it Animals who are heading to Slaughter see a dead animal is panic for the one who sees it What about the band of horses coming in and see this dead mare Did anyone speak up and say Stop We have to remove this mare first
When will this all end!! Why are we doing this, it makes no since. There has to be a better way. They were in the wild, living peacefully, and now a beautiful little goal is orphaned Such a beautiful mare died protecting her foal. How can we make this tragedy end once and for all??
The fact that they didn't postpone the operation when the mare broke her neck suggests a poorly-run removal in which more emphasis was clearly put towards rushing to get things done as opposed to prioritizing the welfare of these animals. This has been a problem for far too long and it's about time that the BLM exercises more caution when they run these removals.
The BLM is doing the best it can with the resources given it. All you people complaining, there is nothing preventing you from starting a fund to raise money for increased staffing, better roundup facilities, etc.
Sounds like you guys trying to hide the truth live the 🏇 alone they don't need your help they being liveing like that from the beginning this operation need to stop those horses don't deserve you tagging them
They're called wild horses for a reason if we stop destroying their land and let them live Wild let nature take its course stop messing around with everything
no predators. they eat the forage down to the numbs and don't move enough. step one would be conservation grazing to bring back those ranges and rehydrate them step two would be wolves. it will take years for the wolf population to get large enough to take down horses regularly to get them moving again. took like 20 years for the wolves to take down bison again. meanwhile birth control and just someone out there moving those herds along would fix the range issues.
